Florist rave and a rant
So my last big vendor that I wanted to book before the end of the year was a florist. We met with Verbena Designs and Jamie was great to talk to and had a ton of ideas.
For high centerpieces I wanted to get a price for a crystal candelabra and for low centerpieces I wanted to see if she would work with these amethyst vases that I have and if not what other ideas so may have. Jamie had no problem working with my vases but I thought the cost to rent the crystal candelabra was a little high so I scheduled an appt. with another florist (don't want to mention their name since they are an LIW vendor)
We met with the other florist and immediately they said we can't work with your vases which I said fine. So we start talking about what we would like for high centerpieces. Then the florist called her boss to see about prices and the receptionist started screaming from us across the room about how they love being an LIW vendor. The florist got off the phone with her boss and said yeah we can't work with your vases which I said ok again. She sat there all quiet and I was like can I see other low centerpieces you have done. She should us one low centerpiece and that was it. She then asked if we have priced other places which we said yes and she asked the price. She told us that was a good price and we should just go with the other place. FH and I were shocked. We were very open to suggestions and were only shown one centerpiece.
We left and immediately called Verbena to go over things again. I told Jamie our concern over the price of the high centerpieces so she showed us a whole bunch of different options. We found a crystal holder that we liked more and she was able to drop the price. We brought in our vases (since I forgot to the first time) and she said these vases are great and she gave us different ideas to tie evrything together. She's very creative and we were able to bounce ideas back and forth and I feel very confident and excited to be booking with Verbena Designs.
