Florist siugestions!!!!!

Well ladies went today to a couple of florists not very impressed at either and suggestions so far i went to Flowers by Michelle and pedestals not loving neither any help would be great!!!!!

I am using Flowers by Georgie. He has a small shop and only does three events a day but his work is great. He really takes pride in his work and he will sit with you and make sure he understands EXACTLY what you want. I wanted a specific vase that is no longer made and he went all over to try and find it for me in the end he was not able to get it but he found something that worked for me.

Just wondering...about Pedestals...you didn't like their work or their prices??? Just wondering because I am going there soon and up until now i was almost certain i was going with them because everyone i know has used them.

I am using the Little Flower Shop in Lindenhurst. We spent over an hour with John, the owner, and were very happy with our sample centerpiece which lasted over a WEEK in perfect condition!

try flowers by gina-she's amazing, she works with your budget, and she really cares about your wedding

shes a vendor on nyc weddings

JMO- but I hated Pedastals...however I did see a wedding done by them and it came out nice.

I am using Jen from Vebena...she was great to work with

Everone that is saying that they did not care for pedalstals please explain why??? I would like to know if it was a work issue or a pricing issue? They so far are the only place that I have seen so far by internet searching that can do the really cool thing that aren't so floral...ex sheer fabric alters, nice candle center piece with minimal low flower center peices, ceiling treatments, lighting ...etc. Plus i never seen a weddind or event done by them that was not fab ... So please before I go explain if you didn't like them because of their work or you thought prices were too high?

Also a lot of the others that are mention on here work looks cheesey if I go by their websites... I know that might not be the best way to judge a vendor but to me you should show case your best work to make me want to come in your shop. I don't know are these places just really that much of the opposite of what their websites look like? I am also searching and would like to know. Also as u may have seen on another posting on here i don't not want huge bouquets or center peice b/c i and not really that big on flowers in the first place. I want more of a sheer fabric and tall hurricane candle center pieces with low flower setting and need some one who had the materials to do just that.

Flowers By Rose IN Howard Beach. They are a mother/saughter team. Worked with me on budget and gave me truthful opinions on my ideas! They told me straight out that my flower options were too expensive and it wasnt worth it...they are looking out for you and not for their own wallets! Doris and Rose !!! Look them up on Yahoo.

We hiree Spitz and Peck.

They took a great deal of time to learn about us as a couple, then what our vision was for the wedding.

He took our ideas and said 'we can do this based on your idea'

What I would suugest is goign to a florist that has worked in the space and knows the space well! Spitz and Peck have worked in our space and know it like the back of their hand. They were able to say 'Oh, there are 3 nooks in the foyer that are great places for small arrangements' or 'we know the the space here ONLY needs a small thing, dont waste your money doing something heere that wont be appreciated, put it in the reception'.

So I LOVE spitz and peck. But find someone who knows your space well.

We're using Flowers & Design by Gina also... [email protected]. She's great to work with, works with your budget and has a lot of ideas if you're stuck. I really like that she responds to emails, calls very quickly. Unheard of in the wedding business.

We're using Lovin' Oven in Sayville.

I only had time to meet with 1 other florist (we live a few states away), but really liked the vibe from Lovin' Oven. They seemed excited to create what I described and they were cheaper than the other place.
