Re: Florist - when do you..
Best idea is to go and meet with a few to at least get prices on their packages. Colors and types of flowers can be chosen after you choose a BM dress, but you will want a price range and what type of CP you can get.

Re: Florist - when do you..
I booked my florist about 10 months b4 the wedding. I did have an idea of what I wanted when I met with them. They showed me a book of work they've done and about six months b4 we went over what I wanted. I would do a google search or I know there is a thread on there on flowers too....just to get some ideas..but nothing has to be final for your first meeting

You don't neccessarily have to be set on colors because with most florists, you're booking a package and style. The colors you'd pick later when you go back with swatches of your bridesmaid dresses. They could even be a huge help in picking out colors for your wedding because they'll have so many pics of different color schemes. HTH

You can start looking now, you don't have to be set on your colors but you should have an idea what flowers you want to work with to get a ballpark figure.

Re: Florist - when do you..
I think you should know your colors before you go to the florist because that is where they get a lot of the ideas they're going to suggest to you from. Not unless you know what you want in terms of types of flowers. My florist went based on the colors I wanted to have.
Some florists charge different prices for different types of flowers, so keep that in mind. You don't need to know your colors if you have pictures of things you want regardless of the color.
Good luck

Re: Florist - when do you..
I booked my florist over a year in advanced. I did know my colors...but you dont have to. Its a good idea to know the general colors you might like for your wedding, but you dont have to be set on them yet. Plus, visiting a few florists might give you great ideas and you may end up picking a color scheme based on something you see!
Lets put it this way....I always say, the earlier the better.

When do you usually start looking for florists?
Is there really an order?
I am not 100% on colors yet...should i be before going to see them?
Thanks.
I would start as soon as possible, they only take a couple weddings for a specific date usually. You can always fine tune the details at a later date.

Re: Florist - when do you..
I booked my a year away b/c a few that I spoke to were already booked on my wedding day. You don't have to know the colors that you want but at least have some sort of idea of what you are looking for

Re: Florist - when do you..
ok. so basically find a florist that artistically meets what you want (style)...and you can change later if necessary?

Re: Florist - when do you..
I had the same question a few weeks ago and posted a similar post. Everyone seemed to tell me to book the florist now. I am two weeks after you and I don't know my color schemes yet either but I have three appts. with florists over the next week. I am going to book soon just to lock in my date.
