Florist yesteray (a lil long, sorry)

Florist yesteray (a lil long, sorry)

Okay, so i went to the florist last night. It was the owner's brother that helped us, because the owner has another place in LI. I didnt think the guy was very creative. I know that i went in not knowing what i wanted, but from what i've read about others experiences i figured i can just tell him my colors and ideas and he can show me something... He kinda did that. He had the green roses and the berries (for the touch of red) he put them together as a bouquet, and it looked nice and i agreed to it. But he he made me an arrangement of green roses and the berries to take home and the more i look at it the more i hate it.. so.. back to square one.

My stepdad is going to take me to the place in LI to see the real owner because he's the artistic one and the one most brides go to see, so hopefuly i can get a better sense there. I just feel like i have to book there because my stepdad knows the owners and are going to give him a break since he's paying for the flowers..

Soo.. now i was thinking of having the green dresses (because i still dont want the common red BM dresses) and having them carry white flowers with a red ribbon, and the green stems exposed, and maybe i'll carry red flowers with a white ribbon and the green exposed. and then for CPs. i like something like this. I figured i could make the iced branches and give them to the florist so its cheaper.

What do you guys think? (sorry for rambling again)

No.. thats the thing. I dont know if it will look bad with the girls in green and the cps with the red... maybe i can do it like the original picture, and add green somehow in there

I think we had a convo before on the flowers you wanted bec your girls are wearing green, trust me, if they wear green and you have red CP's like in the pic, that would look hot, yes you can add a little green to match the colors of the dresses, but I really like the CP you posted, it wont look bad at all

just warning you green roses open up to yellow! I was going to do green roses until i had two centerpieces made up and when they opened ( like 45 min after having them they started to open) and IT WAS YELLOW!!!!

Stick with 'normal' flower colors like the white or red roses. If you are doing a deep green dress then white roses will have a bigger contrast. If you did a red ress then deff white (red on red does not look good in my mind and for the most part when photographed you can not even see the roses). You can always do green berries instead of red they do have them if you want to incorporate green with out it being stems or even just 'greens' like lemon leaf just to add the splash of color.

I am not sure if your a winter theme but how about green point setters just before they turn red.

that centerpiece is beautiful. and if you really want something like that, and this place doesn't get it then you realllllllllly shouldn't just book w them b/c your stepfather knows them.

but maybe you really will love what the owner does. definitely meet w him and see what he shows you.

good luck!! let us know how it goes!!

Its not that they didnt have it there, to cut costs, i'd like to make the branches myself with FMIL (who is craftsy). and then bring it to the florist. I am definitely going to check out the other guys. My stepdad said he's really the artsy one and you cant believe his CPs, so we'll see.
