Florists

Hello!

This is my first time writing here. I am getting married next July at Westbury Manor. I am getting nervous b/c I have not picked OR interviewed any other vendors yet! It seems like everyone is so much more organized than I am!

Do you have recommendations for reasonably priced florists/dj's/photographers. Has anyone used National Floral Wholesalers? They seem really reasonable and have pretty arrangements on their website, but I don't know if the fact that they are a wholesaler means that I would get less attention.

Thanks!

First, congrats and welcome!

I think a lot of girls here are using National Floral, and they get great reviews.

We booked Flower Michele in Huntington (a vendor on this website). If you want to check them out, make an appt with John, he's the best.

Good luck!

Don't worry I'm getting married next July as well and I don't have any of my vendors yet. I only have the church and the hall done. Everyone keeps assuring me that I have plenty of time and not to worry. It is a bit scary to see how far along everyone else is, but it will be OK.

I HIGHLY recommend Simply Stems. They work out of their house so the overhead is extremely low. Most importantly, they do outstanding work. I believe they are a vendor on this site.

Congrats and welcome!

I am using Signature Florist, down the road from National Wholesale. George's prices are amazing and his work is great. He made a sample for me without having to book first. A few other 06 brides (Leese and JessicaM) are also using him. Definitely check out Signature.

Welcome & Congrats!!! Don't panic about not having things booked...Some people plan a wedding in 6 months!!

I highly recommend Pedestal's Florist...I am working with Robert & he is just a sweetheart He will listen to all your ideas & even give you some good ones himself...Always provides insight too! Prices are very reasonable too!

Haha - I know how you feel. All I have is reception and band! Whenever I need motivation to get my butt in motion I come in here (some of the girls have ALL their vendors already eek!)

Go for entertainment and photo next. A photo place I am considering is booked the day before and after my wedding, and bands/djs book up quick!

Favorite florists on here are LA Blossom, Flower Michele and Burtons

Favorite photographers are probably Duet, Silverfox and 12th Night :) But remember everyone has different tastes and budgets!

Welcome!
Don't worry, once you get the hall then you can start looking for the other things. If I may suggest that you book the church (or place you will get married) the DJ and photo first... then you can do the others. As far as a reasonable florist you should really try Burtons and Flowers by Emil. DJ's you can try High Voltage. You will learn a lot on this site! Best of luck and Happy Planning!

I'm a National Floral Wholesale bride!

They're fantastic, and you can check out my sample CP in my photo album.

They're amazing and their prices are the best.

They are just like a regular florist, don't let the name fool you. They distribute 90% of the flowers to the florists in the area.

I'm using Marinela Vera for my photographer, she's fantastic, and I highly recm'd her. I was referred to her through several ladies on theknot.com Her package is $1500 for 2006.

Don't worry! You have lots of time I am using LA Blossom. She is wonderful and has great reviews on this board. The quote I got was very competitive - plus, she only does two weddings a day: one in the AM, one in the PM.

Re: Florists

Welcome...I am new to the site too and it has been a great help!

I am planning to go with Flowers by Brian. My sister and friend used him and his flowers were unbelievable! (He does the flowers for the Regis and Kelly weddings.) I haven't gone yet but plan to by the end of the summer.

I do not have a photographer yet. I met with Duet this weekend, but am not sure if I will go with them.

Good luck!
