I am really a flower fanatic...and the one thing that I really want for my wedding is for the flowers to be awesome and unique. I seriously want people to have there jaws drop wow when they see the flowers and to really remember them. I dont want the typical arrangements so... Can anyone give me any recommendations for florists that do special arrangements like that??

Re: Florists???
We used Arcadia Florists. They are based in Mamaroneck. We loved our flowers and everyone raved about them throughout the night. Talk to Sammy....(he is the owner).

A lot of brides seem to be using Burton's or Flower Michele-both seem to have very good reputations.

Definitely go and meet with John from Flower Michele! He has great ideas. For my wedding I'm doing sunflower topiaries - very different from anything I've ever seen at a wedding!

Re: Florists???
I think if you go to any reputable Florist with ideas and/or pictures as examples to base it on, you wouldn't have a problem.

Re: Florists???
Def. try to go to Colonial Florist in Bellmore, Claudio is amazing with his work. He is so detictaed and has been in business for many years. He shows up to the wedding himself and if he does not like it he will fix it, I have seen him literally with a bucket of flowers and sitting on the floor fixing flowers. If he does not like how a flower comes in, he will not take it and subsitiute something else better or comprabale. Everyone I have sent there have been happy and recommend him highly!!!!

You should really check out Jack and Rose. They are a vendor on the board here. I met and booked w/ him the other night. He was really terrific and great with all the details.

Re: Florists???
jack and rose is awesome getting pedesatal flowers usually 150 for around 75. plus he takes the time out to go over what he wants to do and throws lots of goodies in. i know james cress is very expensive they were on shame on you about a year ago for picking up flowers they delievered to a funeral home and reusing fora wedding. that made me wiery. jack and rose is in woodbury and jack is really great with price 1/2 of most places i looked at.

I went with Scarcellas. If you are looking for unique, this is the place. Ask for Michael. They do a terrific job, you can see just by the shop itself - magnificant. As a small example, they don't use the traditional fillers like babies breath. One touch which I thought was fantastic was after he sat with me for a consutation, he put together a small bouguet of flowers that he would use in the arrangements. Very nice approach. Unique, yet extremely elegant.
