Who do you go with??? A well established company you feel more comfortable with who is offering you less flowers (3 dozen mix of roses and hydrengeas) in a centerpiece for three hundred dollars more, but is willing to show you a sample centerpiece before you book...
or
a well established company who is nice but you don't get the friendly factor who is offering you more flowers in a centerpiece (5 dozen mix of roses, hydrangeas, and peonies) in a centerpiece for three hundred dollars less, and will only show you a sample after you book...
HELP!!!!!!

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
Easy. Screw customer service. I am all about the final product on wedding day. So I'd go w/ the latter option.

I would prob go with the second option; however, I really wouldn't feel comfortable if they refused to make me a sample before I booked.

I was/am still sometimes a florist. You have to *insist* on seeing a sample. If you are dealing with a really well known florist who does more than weddings FM me and I will tell you if I know anything about them.

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
Hi there. A) See if the first company is willing to price match B) Tell second company that you'd feel more comfortable if you could make your decision based on a sample - given that the other vendors you met with are around the same price range and willing to do so... a couple vendors called me back offering to construct free samples but I had booked already - they want to gain your business and at the end of the day they should strive to make you feel comfortable; anything other than that on your wedding day can cause unwanted stress... Offer a cash deposit if you decide to book and let them know you will make your decision then and there or within the week (if you get to see the other florist sample first)... If they are a well established company they probably will do a good job - make sure you see their books and remember, sometimes more isn't necessarily more - make sure you specifically cover everything in your contract to cover all your bases down to size and dimension of the centerpeice, flowers and accessories so that you get your moneys worth and not just fillers. c) Find other options - it sounds like your not necessarily thrilled by either of them. I met with five florist and I am happy to send you an fm with short reviews detailing all of them. Let me know =) Best of luck!

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
I think you should be able to see a sample and that you should shop around a bit. You are spending alot of money and should not have any hesitation if you are booking with a company.

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
can you hold off from booking for a few weeks? i only ask this because those florist who told me they will not do samples unless i book actually called me weeks after i went and offered to do a sample for free! i've received several free samples but i've already found one that i want to work with.

Has the second gotten any bad reviews? Either way I think you should pressure them into making you a sample. If you tell them you could get the same flowers for the same or cheaper price and the others are also established and are willing to give you a sample then they cant rfuse. If they do that is pretty redic!. I know Pedestals didnt want to make me a sample but then became less reluctant when I told them the other places I went to so you can always push!!!

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
Most florists will not make you a sample until maybe 2 months before you book. When I booked my florist, they had maybe TWENTY (probably more if I actually counted) centerpieces throughout the showroom on display. Everything was beautiful. When I booked, I was told 2 months before the wedding, they will make me samples of everything. They even showed me something in their showroom that was my particular flower for my bridal bouquet, and also something very similar to my centerpiece.
Do either of these florists you are considering at any wedding showcases? Maybe you can see some of their work, and who knows, maybe they will have something you will fall in love with?

I think I may know who the 2nd florist is. I know they don't really lay on the charm, but they are great!

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
I am all about customer service and quality of product. Thankfully I have both with our florist. I will say this, if you experience bad customer service, it will cause stress, that is contageous and can spill over into other areas of your life, like with FH. Not worth the stress or fighting.

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
Go with your instinct...look into reputation, quality and cost and weigh out the pros and cons. Sample doesn't mean anything because my sample was a dream come true we were floored by the designer's worked that made our vision and dream a reality but the people that set up the event left out some details that were major in my eyes and I was almost to tears in my reception hall!!!! the samples, the pics of the samples, and the contract weren't enough to make sure setup crew got it right. Make sure you confirm everything in detail and have them highlight everything of importance to you. Although my centerpieces were beautiful, they were not what I paid for, dreamed of, or expected when I walked in the room :( Good luck

Re: Florists got me confused!!!
thanks girls! Really great advice!!. I think I'm going to check out one or two more florists, see the sample of the first florist I mentioned, and then make a decision.
