Who did you use and what were you quoted? I am gonna start making phone calls to florist...Not sure what my budget is....I am thinking 3k....I would like to meet with Flower Michele but its in Mineola and so far from me since I live out east...and I know when it gets closer to the wedding I will probably go out to see them more to see the centerpieces etc....
I was wondering if anyone has used Keyth from Lovin Oven Florists or Sugar Magnolias in Stonybrook?

Re: Florists --- need recommendations
I used Pedestals and Robert is the ONLY one to work with.. He's the Director there and when I met with him, he saw my vision and embellished it.. by the time I was done, I was hugging and kissing him!! and was under $3000 and I had more expensive flowers too!!

I've heard good things about Burton's too. I think they are in Huntington. I haven't done flowers yet, so I can't help too much. Just passing on what I've heard!

Re: Florists --- need recommendations
There are lots of great florists out there Smith & Peck and Flowers by Brian to name a couple. I would really try and make the time to meet with John or Mike from Flower Michele. I am getting A LOT of great flowers (20 centerpieces, 6 Bo-k's my bo-k, ceremony flowers, candles ect) for under 3K.

Re: Florists --- need recommendations
I went and saw Heidi @ Sugar Magnolia's on Saturday She was a doll but not sure what the numbers are going to be - she is mailing my proposal - I will keep you updated as far as how she is priced (my maid of honor knows someone that used her last year and had all great things to say but she did say she was pricey) She had some great ideas as well...I am going to call Flower Michele tomorrow...(I am out east also but I am getting married in Nassau...hopefully my day is available...)
I have had my first disappointment today I called for a makeup trial and I was told she is already booked for my day (9/15/07) - so all the ladies that are procrastinating WEEEEE have to get on the ball...

Re: Florists --- need recommendations
I wanted to know about sugar magnolia she sent me something in the mail, but my hall also recommended some great things. I am so not hoping to spend 3000 that is expensive. I don't need centerpieces, just bo-ks and my flower and for the guys...
I'm a huge fan for Flower Michele also. John is definitely worth the trip. I have heard good things about Burtons in Huntington.

I am using James Cress Florist. His work is phenominal!!!
second james, his work is pure perfection: i've seen him at other weddings and my sister booked him and her wedding is this august!
i'm booked with keyth. since i'm a lovin oven bride i was able to get a better deal with keyth b/c i'm booked with FF-- otherwise i would have went with james. but keyth's work is amazing!! he is so great to work with and very talented artisticly. he was able to make my flowers SO unique yet still classic and elegant. i love LOVE LOVE him and completely recommend him.
i'm even using him for my e-party cp's this july and will definitely post pics. so far i have pics from a bridal showcase i went to at FF.. they are in my album (see below for link)....
I am using Simply Stems. Sandi is amazing and worked w/ my budget.
I met w/ Heidi at Sugar Magnolias. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. But, unfortunately, her quote was about $5K. She is definitely expensive, but her work is gorgeous.
