Florists : Need Suggestions!

Florists : Need Suggestions!

FW went to see the florist over the weekend.. a friend got a great deal but when she got there.. it was the total opposite from her friend. Her friend got a deal for about 1200.

We were expecting about 1500 -- 1800.

They started talking 2600!

Sooooooo......

Can anyone recommend a good florist?
Also suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

OG

I'll 2nd Laurie at LA Blossom. She'll work with you and within your budget.

As for why your quote from the florist was so much higher than your FW's friend's quote -- well, as you prob. know there could be a number of reasons. The size of your wedding in general, number in your bridal party size, size of bo-ks, types of centerpieces (high or low makes a different, price wise), different flowers, etc, etc. There is no way you can compare sometimes, even if its the same darn florist!

Good Luck!

Flower Barn in Seaford. We went there this past week and we got an excellent deal. We are getting amazing flowers...and we are also getting raised center pieces, which we never thought we would be able to afford with our budget. The florist, Michael gave Danielle a Yellow rose to take home, and you wouldnt believe how big and beautiful the flower is now....Do a search on Flower Barn, I just read a brides review. She gave them a A+++++ rating.

I know.. it's really weird.
And her friend was ABLE to talk them down.. FW is a pretty good negotiator in her own right. And they wouldn't budge.

True our Wedding requires some more stuff then theirs but to have a huge descpenancy in prices is really weird.

What kind of stuff are you getting? I think mine is going to be about 2500-3000, also & everyone tells me that is overpriced since I have a small wedding. So, I won't reccomend them.

Milleridge florist ( you don't have to be getting marreid there) was recomend to me, as was Burton's.

ETA--what are are you looking in?

I'm gonna sound like a bad groom.. but I have no idea where she wants to go with flowers. I took care of the more technical aspects.. videographer, etc.

I told her -- flowers .. that's your department

That's ok, that's what most men do. I don't have a car, so I dragged FH wth me.
I did all the talking, he just pointed out that the lady wrote down the wrong church name! Like you said, technical aspects.

Well, you should know this part--what town are you getting married in? and what town do you live in?

Most florists will deliver somewhat far for weddings, but if you live in Riverhead, you probabaly don't want to go looking at florsits in Floral Park.

ahh, we're kinda doing the opposite. I live in Mount Vernon, but we're getting married in Hicksville/Jerricho.

I don't really know any places near New Rochelle to suggwst. I've used Gramatan Florist for regular stuff, but I don't know how they are for weddings.

Where in New Rochelle? I use to live there....

I'd call John Feeney @ Flower Michele.... he's really reasonable- he'll work w/ you, and your FW will LOVE his work

I second Flowers by Emil....I LOVED my flowers. They are located in Brooklyn, but they came out to suffolk county for my wedding, so I'm sure they will travel.
