I have appointments for flowers this month with Bayview Florist and Montage and the other is James Cress. I will let you know how the appointments go. I am a little nervous because I LOVE flowers and you don't get a lot for your money anymore. I hope I am not disappointment. Wish me luck!!! I would love to be able to cross another item off my list.

goodluck! ive already changed my CP and will probably want to change other things before my day comes! Flowers seem easy, but after looking at all these arrangements on LIW, you'll change ur mind by the day!

You should try Flowers by Burton, they charge one set price and you can pick what ever flower you want. They were also the cheapest quote I got (I saw 7 florist by the way) Also my FH cousin used them in Aug and her flowers were beautiful. If you need any info let me know. Good Luck!!

I went to Bayview Florist... their stuff is gorgeous but I was quoted for more than $500 less for the same flowers at Flowers Michelle... you should make an appointment with John he is really nice and is willing to work with any budget... trust me

I didnt use either one but James Cress does amazing work. My friends used him and her flowers were stunning.
I dont think there are many questions to ask a florist. If you have an idea of what you want or even colors it helps-also if you are walking in with a budget let them know that from the get go.
Ask the delivery charge, ask what is in season and what is not (this will affect your price) and bring pictures of things that you like, even if you arent definitely loving one thing bring them all. Most good florists can feed off what you like and put it together for you.

I am a crescent bride and using Bayview Flowers and Montage in Massapequa as well. They were great there and we got quoted a pretty reasonable price and they through a lot of stuff in. For example, they are throwing in the flower piece that you have to provide for the card table.
They also are willing to put shells/starfish on the tables that I purchased on-line without a problem. I didn't want to leave it up to the catering hall to see what looked good on the tables.
I am using blues/whites on the tables in high vases with starfish and blue glass floating throughout. This is not a great picure b/c i was snapping it fast before i committed. i also am posting my cocktail centerpieces. i am making them myself for a lot cheaper than anyone would charge me and they are super easy.

at the crescent they have 40 cocktail tables in and out that you have to put centerpieces on. i was finding most florists wanted a lot of money to put flowers on the tables by the time they bought the vases and then put flowers in them. i found these hurricans for $1 each and just bought the light blue candles, starfish and shells in bulk. If you like the idea, let me know and you can have the vases and everything after I am done with them. You would just have to put new unused candles in them in the color you choose. I can tell you where I got the candles for pretty cheap online.

I would also recommend you try LA Blossom. The owner, Laurie, works out of her home and is very nice and very reasonable. I got quotes from her, burton and flower barn, and she was the most affordable and nicest to talk to. I plan on booking her in the next few days.
I have heard great things about Flower Michele too, and Designs by Rose.

We got an AMAZING $$ from Flower Barn...thats who we are using....I would get a quote from them and Burton's, You can get a lot for your $!!

Hey good luck. just an fyi... if they dont work out Corey from Roots is amazing!!!! She use to work for J C... and pretty much i told her what i wanted and her price was HALF of theres and i'm getting alot more for my money. FM me if u have any questions!

Good luck, I LOVE checking things off my list!!!
We're using Flower Michele, we really love John and he has a ton of good ideas, very easy to work with. Prices are a bit high tho IMO.
