Flower Choice Question

I thought I would pose this question..

How important is it to coordinate types of flowers..

For my ceremony-- I am doing a very natural looking chuppah with lots of greens and some white flowers and possibly green hyrandgeas..

Originally, I was thinking all the bo-ks and bouts would be calla lillies.. Now I am thinking the natural looking chuppah may not match the personal flowers..

What do you guys think? Any other ideas for personal flowers to match the chuppah??

BTW- My ceremony is at the reception venue, Sat night, black tie affair. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I don't think you have to match your personal flowers. One of my friends did her ballroom in whites, and the BM's bo-k's were very bright colors. It did not match at all and it looked fine.

Think about how you want the flowers to look in your photos. That's really the only time your girls will be holding them. I think callas would look great with the look you are going with.

Personally I dont think that the chuppah and personals have to match exactly...but if you want to sort of tie them together, can you add hydrangeas to the BM boks? I remember you said your BM's were holding white callas...maybe add the green hydrangeas to those? Also, what are the white flowers on the chuppah? Maybe you can add white callas to the chuppah?

My hall is providing my ceremony flowers (canopy/chuppah and three aisle pieces on each side) as part of the cermony site fee. The cost of these pieces alone greatly exceeds my ceremony fee. I have no control over what they will be. It was one of the things that helped me make the decision on my site. Many other sites charged the same fee and no flowers were included. I seriously doubt they will match (my blue hydrangea/ white roses) but it's saving me over $1k so I don't care.

My chuppah is going to be all whites and possibly greens and some pinks..very light..and my reception is going to be all very bright and dramatic colors, I will be holding an all black magic rose bouquet, and I believe the girls will be holding all white or ivory bouquet...so it sort of coordinates, but I picked the color of their bouquet not by the chuppa decorations but by the color of their dreses!!! I too am having an evening black tie affair

I wasn;t thinking colors- my colors will coordinate- it's the type of flowers..

I guess all flowers just go together.
