Flower drama. UGH

Okay..... my mother is nuts.

My parents are covering the flowers. FH & I already fought to have flowers for JUST the parents (in addition to the usuals- bridal flowers, centerpieces, etc). My mother will not let go of the idea of getting my aunt and uncle flowers, FH's 8 aunts and uncles!, my niece (the only child allowed at the wedding, so I REALLY don't want to call any more attention to her!) annnnnnnd his grandparents.

Its just too much! I think its silly. I feel like the parents *should* have them but everyone else ...not so much. I personally hate my aunt because she's caused so much trouble in my family. I get the feeling my mom is trying to win people over in FH's family but they really don't care lol. And of course, my parents' reasoning is 'We're paying, we can do what we want.'

*sigh*
I'm so frustrated.

If your parents really want it THAT BAD maybe you should just go along with it.
I'll never understand that reasoning....
If someone pays for something for you as a 'gift' to you... it's your gift not their gift. I could see if they should be asked for approval or opinions. For example, if you wanted to do something that was offensive to them, because they are paying... I could see that. However, if you don't want everyone to have flowers............ I would think it's your wedding. It's a fine line because you don't want to be disrespectful and ungrateful.

maybe you can get your FMIL to talk to your mom and let her know how unnecessary it is?
