So I have had a really tough time with flower girls...my cousin said his daughter would do it back in December when I asked him, but now due to financial reasons they are not able to fly out here. So, long story short my FH's god daughter is going to be our flower girl. My question is so is very small and shy(going to be 3 at the end of this month) should I just have her carry a kissing ball or should I attempt the flower basket??
How old are your flower girls??

Re: flower girl
I would maybe have the petals already scattered and then let her carry the basket and if she doesn't drop any it will still be ok because you already have some down. Otherwise I would still put some down already and have her carry the kissing ball.

Re: flower girl
if she is shy, maybe you should just do the kissing ball. but even if you did the basket and she didnt throw any, thats not a big deal either. .. it was cute!!! i have 3 flower girls, they are 3,5,and 7 they are outgoing and have done weddings before.

Re: flower girl
We had a 6 yr old, a 5 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old and they all had baskets with petals. The 2 1/2 yr old's mom was rehearsing with her from the moment she was asked if the daughter could be in it and once she saw what the other girls were doing she just did as they did.

Re: flower girl
My flower girl turns two this week, she's getting a kissing ball, and I'll be proud if she manages to carry it half way down the aisle before dropping it...

I am having two flower girls and they are 3 & 7 and they are both very outgoing. I am doing matching baskets for them.

I think that since she is shy maybe having her throw the petals will help her focus on that rather than everyone staring at her. I also think you should have petals already scattered just in case.

My flower girl just turned 6, but I am having her carry a small basket of flowers. I don't want to walk on petals.
