are FG dresses supposed to cost almost as much as some bridesmaid dresses???? or am i looking in the wrong places???
i figured since my BMs dresses were so reasonably priced (around $180...Alfred Angelo) that the same designers FG dresses would also be 'reasonable' but it turns out, they are not much cheaper than BM dresses!!
is this normal?
i just feel kinda funny asking my cousin and FSIL to buy their daughters dresses that cost over $100 (and close to $150 actually!)
but there are some other designers that cost almost like $200-300 for FG dresses which is crazy to me cuz i didnt even have my BMs cost that much....so maybe 100-150 is reasonable???
some feedback on this topic would be greatly appreciated!! LOL
TIA

Re: flower girl dresses??
You can get a FG dress for $120 at the bridal salons...or get a nice white dress at a department store like jcpenney or burlington coat factory.
I'll be looking at the department store places and I'm trying to keep it under $50. Two of my FGs are sisters and I feel bad making my aunt pay over $100 for each dress. I'd rather keep on it the cheaper side.
Your FGs will look cute in ANY dress, whether its $30 or $230; just remember that!!

Re: flower girl dresses??
When I found my dress I found a FG dress that matched perfectly and it was 179. I was so angry. I found a few flower girl dress websites for under 100 (around 55-75). I was going to try the flea market too but one of my flower girls lives in NJ.

I plan on just going shopping with the FG and her mother to JC Penney's or some other dept store. I think it is crazy to pay 100 plus for a child's dress.

Re: flower girl dresses??
ahh what ***** is that there's no way i can buy off the rack....unless i wait til last minute...
their sizes are crazy....one FG is tall and really skinny...shes 4 now and shes taller than the 3 yr old, but skinnier!!!!
and the 3 yr old is WAY BIGGER sizes than any 3 yr old i know, but tiny....
the 4 yr old is wearing 4T mostly, but in pants needs 5T for the length, but the waist doesnt fit
teh 3 yr old (whose bday i jus went to today) wears a size 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she has to have all her pants hemmed cuz she needs the 6 for the waist but they're wayyyyyy too long!
so i think its gonna be hard for me to jus buy them a dress thats not ordered to their size....i dunno, i gotta figure out options
plus....do u think it will cost alot to order fabric in my colors n have sashes made?(one will wear baby blue and the other chocolate brown) cuz i dont want them just in the white dress...i want them each with a sash w/a bow or something...i dunno if i buy a white dress then have to get fabric n have it made into the sash/bow and put on the dress it will cost alot on top of the cheaper dress n i might as well order a dress like that already??
grrr

What about ordering them online??? That way you can get sashes in different colors.
I found a FG dress at Shoppers Village that I think is going to be it. It's $65. The best part.....for an extra $15 (so a total of $80) you can get the sash and the little roses in whatever color you want. I'm getting them in red, but she showed me she also had baby blue and I think a ton of other colors.
Here's the dress:
Here's the dress with the red sash.....and then the little roses will also be red:

definitely try Tri-County or Ebay....also some local mall shops have some that are inexpensive as well.
