Flower girl dresses

How far in advance should you get flower girl dresses?
I worry because children grow so fast, you can't get them too soon.

My youngest will have just turned 4 and they do grow sooo fast in 1-2 months.

I was thinking of doing it right after communion season (May/June) in order to maybe get some discounted dresses. Then i worried that it was TOO close.

i dont know where u will be getting them, but we ordered the flowergirl dress at the end of MAY for a July 2nd wedding. i also ordered from davids bridal, and they are usually quick. She had the dress the second week in June!

Re: Flower girl dresses

We just ordered my 4yr old flower girl's dress last week. The lady at the store said it was okay to order it now because she will just get taller but at that age the body shape doesn't change too much. Hopefully she's right!

I'm having the same issue. Mine will be almost 3, and 6 1/2. I think I'm going to do it about 2-3 months before, but get them a little big. Also I think I'll get a style that will be a little 'forgiving' if they grow too much.

Re: Flower girl dresses

We bought it two mths before, I got in Bride's Best Friends and we got a great deal since we bought the sample.

But I know around Easter time Daffy, sells US Angels dresses for $60, which I of course didnt think of buying then, but def look into that. For the size just buy one size bigger and take it in if it doesnt fit

I think I'm going to go for 4 months before. My FG will be 6.5 though and I swear she grows more everytime I see her (which is like 3x a week!)

ummm.......good ques, not sure havent even thought about this. I guess it is best to get them a month or 2 b/f the wedding.

Re: Flower girl dresses

I'd say 1-2 months before is plenty...maybe pick it out (so you know what you want) but they usually don't have to be altered or anything.
