Flower girl issues - DRAMA

Flower girl issues - DRAMA

OK so originally we wante to have FH's 2 baby nieces (2 and 3) but his sister got mad at him and told us she wasn't coming to our wedding and to have a nice life. So they're out of the bridal party. FH has 2 other nieces - one is 8 and one is 13 - he wanted to aske them as flower girls but the 13 year old is def too old to be a flower girl. He thinks the 13 yr old will be upset if shes not in it and the 8 yr old is. I think the 8 yr old is too old anyway. I dont want to have jr bridesmaid either because his sis is having money problems (we're paying for her dress) and I don't want to wind up having to pay for their dresses on top of hers. My MOH has a 4 yr old daughter who I'd like to have as the flower girl. but don't want his family to feel snubbed. I think this is merely a vent but would love to hear anyone's opinion on this...

imo, I don't think the eight year old is too old...my flower girl is my neice and she'll be 9 when we have the wedding. I would probably ask your friend's daughter. I just think if you asked the others then you may have to pay for their dress as well since you are already paying for the sister's. But then again if you have the extra money in the budget....i hope everything works out! good luck!

i agree that 8 is a lil old to be a flower girl but my niece is going to be 10 and she's still going to be my flower girl because i want one and i want her in the wedding

anywho - i'd go with having the MOH's daughter as Flower Girl b/c that's who you want. MOH must be dear to you if she's your MOH so having her daughter would be a good choice.

I dont think it would 'snub' the family. They would probably just assume 8 yr old is too old for FG (which some people think it is- I personally don't). You already tried to involve the family and that didnt happen. Just ask your friend's daughter

If not having them will bother you, are there other ways to include FH's fam?

ITA. Maybe you can ask the 8 and 13-year old neices to hand out programs or petals (if you're doing any of these) to involve them. If not, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like you're including other family members and not them. There's no way to involve everyone in the wedding, and people have to realize that.

My FG will be 8 and there are some very affordable FG dresses online, if you did end up buying it.

Wow that's tough. Maybe you can just ask the 13 year old to do a reading or maybe she can be a hostess and help give out the programs or do something else this way she doesn't have to buy an expensive dress she can wear something really pretty that's inexpensive. If it were me I would like to involve family as much as possible and you can't ask one and not the other. GL!

I think you can ask the 8 yr old without any issues or without the 13 yr old. OR just ask the 4 yr old I don't think his family should feel snubbed!
