I just got back from the church (we booked!) and I was reading over the 'rules'. Im kind of upset...we cant have an aisle runner AND the flower girl cant drop petals down the aisle?!
I have heard about churches not letting you have an aisle runner, but never the thing about the petals! Has anyone done any kind of alternative to flower petals?? Do you think they would allow the flowergirl to drop fake petals or something???

All churches have different rules ~ we are allowed to have an isle runner & no petals...

ask about silk petals. you can't tell the difference in pictures, and they won't stain the church floor of they get stepped on.

Re: flower girl not allowed to drop petals
My FG will be dropping fake petals..but I will be getting married at my reception hall. Ask them about fake petals..that shouldnt be a problem. If anything..can you just have the FG come down the aisle with a small bouquet?

Wow that stinks...why dont you have a flower girl run down the aisle saying 'the bride is coming, the bride is coming' that might be cute!

Re: flower girl not allowed to drop petals
nope, no runner or petals for us either.... it's not the staining.... we were told they don't have time to vacuum between events....
we also aren't permitted to toss anything outside I would have loved to have a lavendar toss...

Re: flower girl not allowed to drop petals
throwing petals is an insurance thing. God forbid someone falls. That's why my church doesn't allow it.. Anything you drop increases the risk of someone tripping/falling..

You could always have the flower girl carry a kissing ball if your church doesn't allow silk petals either.

Re: flower girl not allowed to drop petals
blaaaaah We arent allowed to throw ANYTHING-they actually put in the rule book 'have them throw kisses'
I look at it like this, if it really is a safety issue there must have been enough accidents that made them do it...and I know I dont want to bust my face in walking down the aisle or out of the church
