i'm having a nine year old be my flower girl.... i know she could be a junior BM, but she is just one of those kids that has been dying her whole life to be a flower girl! haha... but instead of a basket, i am having her hold a mini bouquet.... she will not be tossing flower petals. i am also going to look for a white dress that isn't too little girly... and dress it up with my bridal party colors via a sash and flowers.

my niece will be 8.5 for my wedding - i am making her a flower girl so she can wear her communion dress and my sister wont have another expense. . . but she will have a bo-k and no basket
a lot of people have told me she should be a jr BM though. . .
edited bc i am a HORRIBLE AUNT and i thought my niece was going to be 9.5, she is only 6 right now. . . WOW THATS BAD! lol i guess i have bride brain!

My niece will be 9 at our wedding. We are having her be a JrBM. I thought she a was a little old to put in a frilly dress and she's already been a FG in another wedding so she didn't mind either way.

That being said, my Jr. BM was 11 and wore a flowergirl dress. She just didn't look right in the BM dress. Also, I had been to a wedding a couple of years ago where the Jr. BM wore hte same dress as the BM and it didn't fit her well and she felt uncomfortble.
Here she is with me and her older sister who is wearing the BM dress.
We have a 9 year old niece, who will be 10 for the wedding. She will be waering a dress that is a little more age appropriate and carrying a Bo-K.
We also have a 4 year old FG, she will be wearing a traditional FG dress and carrying a basket w/ red rose petals.

after reading you girls posts... i decided.
I am goign to ahve my 10yr, 8 yr, and 7 yr old wear the same dresses, and then my 5yr old niece be the flower girl.
so i will have my bridemaids in one dress my three nieces in anther

That is great! I loved the uniqueness of having Mary Kate in a different dress.
But I did get a lot of 'Why is she wearing a different color dress?' in the planning.
OH and she did get a drink from a bartender for her mom when she told him that she was the bride!

My FG will be nine at the time of our October wedding. Her 10th b-day is in December. IMO, at that age it can go either way - FG or JrBM - it depends on the young girl in question.
