I decided on Flower Michele and I need to come and drop off a deposit. Is there a contract I need to sign? I already thought aout making changes to the things we talked about it? How does it work now that I've picked them for my wedding?

Anyway in answer to your Q. When we made our first deposit it was in cash so we met with John personally. (I am 99% sure you can mail him a check if you are not local) About a week later we received a contract in the mail and signed it. John detailed all that we discussed in our original meeting but also stated that if I made any changes it would not be a problem he would adjust the price accordingly. He said brides always change their minds a million times and it would be fine as long as it was final (I think) two weeks prior to the wedding. I had a few adjustments at the time of the signing and I called John and we made contract changes to his and my copy simultaneously. I have found John to be a very easy going guy and eager to please so don't be worried about idea changes, he is not the type to flip. I know we made the right choice.

We met with him in person too since my parents wanted to meet him and pay the deposit in cash. You can definitely change your flowers!

I'm oaying cash to, which means another trip to Huntington from Brooklyn when I fly in at the end of January from Chicago. I'm saving my mom the trip. I already know they're are some things that I want to change. I'm guessing I can just email him my changes with any pictures and he'll adjust the price before i come in 2 weeks.

I put my deposit on a credit card and about 2 weeks later, I got a typed contract from John.

I am meeting with John next week. Is there anything that I should ask him or bring with me? Did anyone meet with Jack and Rose? I have heard such wonderful things about FM that I don't know if I should bother meeting with other florists. What do you think?

I was going to me with FM, Pedestals, and Jack and Rose. The day I went I tried doing all 3 in one day and it proved impossible. I went to Pedestals first and liked them, but I loved John at FM. My mom keeps thinking that we should see J&R as well just to get one more opinion, but its such a schlep from brooklyn. Plus I already know I like John a ton, so why make this harder on myself. I've read good things about both.
