Flower Michele (Non-John)?

Flower Michele (Non-John)?

So my fiance and I met with a few florists today, Flower Michele being one of them. I am looking for a non-traditional, modern look to my floral pieces and the floral designer Richard described ideas that were what I am looking for.

But now I come onto this forum, and everyone only raves about John. Do you guys think it matters? Richard did mention that he was going to bounce ideas off the other floral designers too and design a few mockups to give us ideas.

I think it would be rude at this point to ask for John (though it was only one appt and we have not officially booked yet). What are your thoughts? Thanks!

hi! john is the owner of flower michele so i think a lot of brides have had interaction with him and i think for awhile he didn't have many other designers working with him. i don't know for sure, but my guess would be that most things go through john eventually even if you are dealing with richard. we used flower michele for our wedding and they did a spectacular job!

I met with Richard weeks ago and he went on and on how he knew exactly what I wanted and how we'd meet in the nyc flower district (i live in the city) to pick flowers, blah, blah, blah. My FI was with me and thought he was a smooth talking salesman but I thought he seemed very sincere. So I've been trying to set up an appt. to come see mock ups and the dates I'd be on LI didn't work for the few first tries but then the last few times I emailed Rich he simply didn't respond! I didn't bother calling because I was already so over them but I just thought I'd warn you.

I worked with John and met Richard. He actually put together my sample and I thought he was great in my opinion.

Plus, that's fantastic he wants to meet you in the flower district. Lots of floral designers will not do that. I live in NYC also and i would have loved to have met with them in the district.

John will still be overseeing the prep of you flowers-he always does. I am sure that Richard is great at what he does

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I did ask Richard, whether he was a designer (to see if he was a smooth salesman) and he says that he is a full fledged floral designer.
