Flower Question

Flower Question

Is it necessary to have flowers at the ceremony? What about pew bows? We are trying to keep our budget under control. Plus, FH (along with my dad--and me a little) think it's a waste to have flowers at the church, he says 'What will happen to them after the ceremony?' I don't know. Any ideas? TIA

Re: Flower Question

We are only having pew bows...it was a lot of money to have flowers at the church and my church is so beautiful as it is. The church 'recommended' I use their florist. I looked into it and although they were a little cheaper than my florist the flowers get donated after the ceremony (which is nice and all) but even if you wanted to keep them you couldn't.

Re: Flower Question

it's not necessary but you could probably get pew bows at Michael's for a good price.

i don't think i'm getting an arrangement for the church, we're not going to be there very long.

Re: Flower Question

I think most churches are beautiful on their own and flowers are an unneccessary expense. Instead of buying pew bows you could make them yourself or you could use something different. I bought small red rose pomanders in WalMart for $3 a piece and we will put them on every other row.

Call me dumb, but what is a rose pomander?

Re: Flower Question

We had six pew bows and one basket for in front of the altar. We took the basket with us to the reception and it was placed in front of the sweetheart table - it looked great!
