i was wondering if anyone found that local florists offered better prices compared to the more well-known floral vendors?

Re: flower question
I did, I went to a few of the bigger 'wedding' florists and was not impressed by the people I met with and their ideas. I went to a local florist and they were so helpful and friendly. They had a huge book with all the pictures of weddings they had done. They also made me a sample centerpiece at the first meeting. They said to go back a few weeks before the wedding to finalize everything and still make sure that's what I wanted.
The one part that really stuck out in my mind with the local florist than with someone I met at Pedestals was the fact that I didn't want flowers for my church. I am getting married the day before palm sunday and was told by my church not to waste $ on the flowers because they would have to be thrown out after my mass. The person at my local florist completely understood and didn't push the issue. The person at Pedestals insisted I have flowers at the church and didn't want to hear otherwise.

Re: flower question
I guess it depends on where you go. I got a really great deal from Flowers & Designs by Gina compared to a few local florists I met with.
