flower question

Just wondering what you need to know when going to different florists. I have no idea how many people will be at the wedding yet, or how many tables we will have. Do they usually tell you how much a centerpiece will be,then you figure out based on the amount of tables? And then what else, church,bo-k's,.......????

Re: flower question

The first question that usually pops up is how much you want to spend.

The florist i went to (and will most likely book) gave me a set price for my bo-K, MOH, 1 bridesmaid, all buttoneires & 2 mothers corsage. Then if there were more needed for personal flowers he added it on.

He will also ask you if you need flowers for the church. In regards to centerpiece they asked how much i was wanted to spend and gave me an idea of what i would get for that amount of $$.

Re: flower question

Hi...

When I met with the florist (Flowers by Burton), I came prepared with a list of what I think I'll need.

Of course I didn't know exact # of tables for centerpieces - so he gave me a ballpark based on the number of people on my guest list.

I also brought along some pictures of arrangements and bouquets I liked.

It helped to be prepared!

Good luck!

Re: flower question

My florist didn't ask what my budget I was. I went completely unprepared except for some pix I pulled out of magazines and a picture of the colored beading on my dress. I looked thru her books, picked out things I liked and then we drilled down on particulars that I wanted different. So she kinda had a mock order together and contacted me later that night with a price for middle of the road (as far as amounts of flowers in boo-k, cp, etc) scenario.
