When you booked with your florist did you guys spell out every single flower that you want to use?
I didn't book yet but I want my florist to be creative and not just use roses and carnations. In your contracts do you write everything out?

I found a bunch of photos that i loved on LIW and on google photos and i saved them, sent them to CVS thru the internet, they printed them up in a 4x6 for me. I brought them all with me when I met with the florist and showed her pictures of exactly what flowers I liked. She looked at my budget and she outlined exactly what flowers I will have - down to their scientific name and what color to be expected. It is fantastic - It is so thorough - and I am the most tedious person out there.. it was amazing.. BTW I booked Jen at Verbena - she is fantastic!

The flowers are written out on mine but just so we could get an idea of what the price would be. We're able to change it up to like a month before the wedding, which is good since I think my colors might change by then.

not sure about everyone else, but my contract was really specific on exactly what kind and how many will goes in the centerpieces, each bouquet and all of the boutainneires (sp?). hope that helps!

In the contract the flowers are written out. This, for one, helps determine the final price, and two, protects you and them from saying what you wanted was not what was given.
You can, in the planning process have them be creative until you both come up with something that you like and can afford.
I think my florist and I went through 3 or 4 different 'contracts' before the final one (how many and which flowers) were decided on and we made the final payment.

Thanks everyone! I went for a quote and she wrote things but she didn't specify all the flowers I want. So, I'm going to make a list when I finalize. I brought in pictures that I love so I'm hoping that is what she is basing it all on. Since she's a friend of my aunts I really hope it does work out. I feel bad being a pain but I do have a vision in mind so I hope she can do it.
