Flower ? to those of you who got married in a church.
Ok, I'm just trying to figure you my flower budget. I was told that I have to buy 2 centerpieces for altar. After that I was told that I can take them with me and bring them to the recepetion. If so, which tables do I use them as centerpieces for, cause they'll be different from the rest. Thanks.

In my case, the flower arrangement for the church is bigger and a bit different then the centerpieces we chose for the reception. we are planning to leave the flowers at the church, but if you are planning on bringing them with you maybe set them up near the head table/bridal party table

Thanks, I think the most practical thing to do is leave them in the church. IMO, I think it looks a little tacky taking them with you.

I would leave them at the church - most consider them a donation.

I am leaving mine at the church. They actually called and asked me if I was so I felt wierd saying that I was taking them. My florist said she would do something inexpensive that would match my theme so I told her to go for it

the flowers for the church are considered part of the donation for the church
i guess they wouldnt stop you if you took them i just dont think its one of the nicest things to do (JMO)
if you are on a budget - you dont even have to decorate the church. . . i was not going to until my mother insisted. . . .
plus, the arrangements for the altar are kind of big - i dont know if they could double for CPs or anything like that
HTH!

I'm having a friend take them after Church and bring them to the hall to put near the fireplace. My pieces were pricey I'm not leaving them.

We left ours at the church, but my sister took hers to the reception and she had hers set up behind the sweetheart table. (There was a window with a ledge right behind them so it was perfect).
Other good places to use them are on the place-card table or the bridal party table (if you have one). I would ask your florist for suggestions, and then determine what will look best in both the church and whereever you decide to use them at the reception.

We did not have altar flowers (although the church coordinator did make a beautiful arrangement in my colors as a surprise)
I would leave them at the church though, if I were you

I am leaving my flowers at the church the only thing I am taking with me are the pew bows that my mom is making. They are going to go to the bridalparty the girls anyway.

We're getting to large candleabra things and they will be taken to the reception and be placed on either side of our sweetheart table :O) Since the wrought iron stands belong to the florist we can't leave them in the church.

we are ordering 3 arrangements for the church two for the alter and a smaller one for the vestibule. We are taking the two larger ones back to the catering hall and they will be placed by the dais....
the third will be left as a token for the church...however my priest told us he would rather us not to do too much and actually encouraged us to not leave them there!

Ours are being transported to the reception and put near the DJ.
