We have an appointment this weekend to pick out our cake. There seems to be so many options - what did you decide on?

I went with white chiffon cake with raspberry and fresh fruit filling but it was hard to decide without tasting any. they are going to make us a sample one to taste so we can make sure it is what we want. seems kind of ordinary doesn't it?

I meant to ask what what type of decorations - like basketweave, pearl dot, etc.

Oh, that was definitely the tougher part. Ours has pearl dots on it and roses down the side. There were so many to choose from!

Do you know if they'll let you make a part of the cake chocolate and the other white cake? I have my appt. on july 13th and they seems to be my only concern because im a chocoholic!

When I asked about having two different flavors she discouraged it because she said it becomes difficult in serving if you have to ask guests which flavor they want. She did not tell us that we absolutely could not, but she did say she wouldn't recommend it, so we went with her advice. Why don't you do an all chocolate cake? Nothing wrong with that!

In response to the decoration question, we are going with the Victorian cake. For flavors, we are doing chocolate cake with 1/2 vanilla mousse filling, and half fresh stawberry filling. It's yummy!

It was a tough decision.. but we decided to go with basketweave design with short teirs btwn each layer which I will have my florist fill with fresh flowers all around. She will also top the cake with fresh flowers. We decided on choclate cake with canoli cream w/ choc. chips filling. Don't forget to ask about desserts for the ganache cart if you are doing that... you can also choose the desserts for that. My fiance is excited for the cookies and cream mousse.

I'm getting hungary reading all the discussion about the cakes!! YUMMM I am also getting married at Flowerfield and was wondering what other brides are doing in addition to serving the cake. Are you doing the ice cream parlor or the a la carte? Is it all neccessary after the large portion of food that Loving Ovens serves?

I got married last fall. The cake I chose was the one that looks like gift boxes piled on top of eachother. ($75 extra for the bow on top ! LOL) it was very pretty. simple but pretty. chocolate fillng. it was delicious.

We went with the dessert cart, only because my family are 'snackers' and will probably want to try a little of this, and a little of that. : )
