Just visited the site and decided this is definitely THE place. Now the debate is on picking the date. The two choices-
Sunday afternoon mid-fall or Saturday night late-fall (base on availability).
Considering the different plusses and minuses of a Sat night vs a Sun day at Flowerfield, is the Saturday night worth the extra $10k that it will cost? Why or why not?
Thanks so much!!!!

Re: Flowerfield - Day or Night
I love morning and afternoon weddings! I think that it really depends on what time in the afternoon your wedding will be. Since it's a Sunday, you need to figure that most people would be going to work the next day. Did you look into a Sat. afternoon?

I love morning and afternoon weddings!
me too! FH and I are doing an afternoon at Land's End - we really wanted our guests to be able to see the beautiful scenery (plus I am just not a night person). The reduced afternoon pricing was just an added bonus

I was so glad I had a daytime wedding and so were my guests. The view was gorgeous! Pictures came out great! We still partied hard and we had time afterwards to wind down. NOT ONE PERSON left my wedding early.

i would do the daytime! the grounds there are beautiful as is the food. $10,000 extra is a lot of money for Saturday night especially since it will be getting dark very early in the fall!

Go for the afternoon! 10,000 is A LOT of extra money just to have an evening wedding! I've never seen Flowerfield in person but it looks gorgeous in pics. I'm sure you're guests will love it day or night!

I am not a flowefeild bride but this was a decsion FI and I had to consider for CLM. We decided that with all the X-tras and upgrades if we chose a Sunday afternoon it would come out to the same price as the base for a Sat night... to us getting all we wanted within a price range that we were comfortable with was more impt then a Sat night. We just thought that if we gave ppl enough time that they can take the day off if they wanted to. But in our case it is ending at 10pm so it is not that late for ppl to get up and go into work the next day. I say save that 10k and put it towards a great HM!
Good luck!

i prefer night, mine is late afternoon, sunsets and the not so strong light of day, think about the pretty pics you can do during that time.

Stephanie - you are getting married one day before my year anniversary at the same place and we also did a Sunday afternoon. Great choice!
Why spend more money? Just to say it was a Saturday? If you are going to a place with beautiful outdoors I say do it during the day.

If your wedding is October the sun will set earlier, so even if you are doing an earlier wedding you may still get the sunset?

Re: Flowerfield - Day or Night
FH and I are getting married at FF late October, we had our heart set on a Saturday day ceremony, night reception and we will be able to take advantage of FF's gorgeous grounds when we get there before the sun goes down. If you feel like you can spend the $ on other things than go for a day wedding, it will be beautiful either way. Best of luck!

ok my opinion.. Night wedding.. that is if it is in your price range.. morning weddings I think are an incovience for people.. seriously to eat a meal a 11 in the morning.. is crazy and afternooning is nice.. but when its over people are in a daze from drinking so early and dont know what to do.. This is my opinion if you can do a night a wedding go for it!

I snuck on here just because I read Flowerfield
I say spend the extra money for a night wedding!! What about a Friday night? I like night weddings more. JMO. The ballroom is so pretty at night It really is pretty no matter what!
Great choice

You have to do what is in your price range!!
I def prefer a night wedding!! What about on a Friday night is Sat is too much?? I am not a fan of afternoon weddings. Either way you will be able to take pictures on the grounds of FF, you can go ahead of time if you decide on a night wedding Remember it's ONE bride at a time, the place is yours

Re: Flowerfield - Day or Night
Personally, my FH wanted a Sat. night wedding (personally I didn't see why we needed to spend an extra 10k just for a Sat. nite, but anyway ), I'd say being that it is Flowerfield w/ the beautiful grounds, esp. in the fall w/ the leaves changing & the weather should still be nice, I'd definitely do the afternoon.
Sometimes I feel the night weddings have a different feel to it, people seem to dance more or let loose more, but that's not necessarily the case.
Go w/ what your heart says. Don't look back 5 years from now regretting what you did.
