flowerfields

So... tell me about Flowerfields.

Specifically -
1. What is the food like?
2. How are they to work with?
3. Has anybody been to a ceremony there in the evening? I'm worried about it getting too dark to be outside in the gazebo after 7:30pm in October.

And anything else you think somebody should know who is seriously considering booking there.

I went and saw it today, and so far it's the one place that just really clicked for me. I'm looking at Land's End tomorrow, and possibly Coindre Hall on Saturday, but if my fiance likes Flowerfields when he sees it, this might be it.

edit: thanks so much for all the comments! Just wanted to say though that I can't move up the ceremony - it's their time frame, not mine... if they have an afternoon party it goes until 5/5:30, and they need time in between to clean up and reset and redecorate.

Thanks Ladies!

I'm getting married there next year and cannot wait. I've worked with Carolyn and she is great and accomodating. I will know more about the food next month, but I've heard great things from the girls here and vendors I've talked to.

I looked at Land's End as well and it's gorgeous. However, FF had a more unique, elegant feel that I was looking for. It depends on how many people you have as well, since FF seats up to 350 in the main room and I'm not sure how a small wedding may look. JMO

I went to a wedding at FF - it was amazing!!!! The food was delicious! And there was a lot! The setting is beautiful - I know we went for an evening wedding, but I don't remember the gazebo getting too dark. The sun did set during the ceremony. Cocktail hour is so beautiful with the gold fish pond - I don't think you could go wrong there.

beth1210 is getting married at FF on next weekend. She could probably help you with the ceremony stuff. I am pretty sure she is having hers there and in the evening.

But, FF is fabulous. I grew up not far from there... It has a great reputation. The food is awesome (i am getting married at another lovin oven hall; lands end is too btw) and the food is yummy! You have nothing to worry about if you book there!

I'm getting married there Oct 06 and I can't wait. I know the food is amazing because I have been to other weddings with the caterer and they blew away any food I have ever had at a wedding.
As for 730 ceremony, that might be pushing it a tad. If its the 7th its before daylight savings time, but u may lose light. What about at 6 or 630?
FM me with any other questions :O)

Re: flowerfields

i went to a wedding there last year. the CH started at 6 or 7 i think...but it was in may so there was still plenty of daylight.

the food was absolutely delicious!! the CH had so much good food i was practically stuffed by the time they announced dinner. the service is TOP NOTCH! i felt like a dirty dish or an empty glass was no where to be seen, because the staff was quick to handle it.

to be quite honest the wedding i went to at FF was the best wedding i've ever been to.

i have a few pics from that wedding if you want to FM me, and I can send them to you. they aren't that great, but you can see the place a little bit when it's all 'done up'.

I'd rather do the ceremony a little earlier, but that's the time frame they gave me, because if they have an afternoon part it goes until 5:30, and they need an hour an a half to clean up and set things up and everything, which is definitely fair and understandable...

So I'm just hoping they have enough lighting that it works.
thanks though!

Re: flowerfields

My sister had her wedding at Flowerfields on 2/14/04 and it was the best wedding I've ever been to!

1. The food was awesome! She had everything, from the tuscan table to japanese men making sushi! All provided by lovin oven. Her wedding cake was also really good, she got the carrot cake.

2. I'm not sure exactly how they are to work with but I don't think my sister had any problems at all (I was the MOH so I probably would of heard if she did)

3. I never went to a ceremony there.

FYI - Before she had her wedding we went to a huge bridal expo there, where we had to pay $20 each and when we walked in they had food spread out all over, appetizers, horderves, all the different cakes they make along with other desserts! It was delicious! See if maybe they will hold something like that again sometime soon.

I am hoping my wedding is as nice...I'm getting married on 10/28/06 and I feel I have a lot to live up to after her wedding!! I am booking Harrison House this weekend. YEY!!

Coindre Hall isn't that nice, imo. I saw it like 2 weeks ago. Dinner and dancing are in seperate rooms and it kinda looks run down.

Really? I've actually been considering cancelling our appointment there... I just feel bad because the guy called to confirm this morning.

My dad was really worried about it being run down, but I wanted to look because I was worried I wouldn't find somewhere else that I liked, but I really like FF, so maybe I will cancel it. I just hate cancelling with people at the last minute... but I just have so little free time to waste these days!

I got married there Nov 2004 and it was unbelievable. I worked with Meaghan!! All of the staff there was great to work with. The great thing about FF is that if you have an idea, they can probably do it Just ask.

The food was great!! I can't wait to have another party there

I got married there this past October. They were wonderful!! You have nothing to worry about! It was absolutely perfect!
One thing to consider. If it rains on the day of your wedding, they hold the ceremony inside the cocktail hour room. That wasnt what we wanted, so we got married at a church right down the road from ff (we were not members of this church). It was also MUCH cheaper than having the ceremony at FF.
Good luck!

My best friend had her ceremony there, and it was amazing! They set up the place so beautifully, and we walked over the bridge...it was so different and so special. The food is amazing! Her matre'd (Scott, I think) was the best, so professional...you won't be disappointed!

I went to a wedding at FF and the food was amazing. I don't usually remember wedding food because after a while it's all the same, but this food was soooo good that it really stuck in my mind.
