Flowergirl or not?

Flowergirl or not?

Less than 2 weeks to the wedding and my mom suggested yesterday that I invite my cousins 6 year old to be a FG - FH and I discussed this at length a long time ago, and firstly we want no kids (outside my immediate family) and secondly the little girl in question has been known to be on the wild side, and excitable. My mom feels that the girl should be asked bc her grandmother (my aunt) has been very involved in our lives since we came to NY - and I don't disagree. But its 2 weeks to the wedding - am I wrong ??

I think I've made my decision, and I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that I am not making the wrong decision

2 weeks before the wedding, to be honest, you don't need the hassle.
You could show your appreciation to your Aunt another way IMO

edit for my typo

Stick to your guns! We are facing alot of criticism b/c we are not having a RB or FG, but FH and I think it is really cruel to keep a kid awake in an adult celebration and in dressclothes for 9 hours! We do not want the parents to stress about their kids at the party either!

Whatever your reasons stick to it - you are in the homestretch now, don't look behind you- look ahead to *your* big day!

I would also thank your aunt another way...you don't have much time. Does she already have a dress?

I agree with Hearzbellz! The kid might be devestated especially if she's not well behaved. Enjoy your day without worrying if the little girl is going to be upset.

I agree with what these girls said. It's so close, no need to make yourself nuts now!!! And, like you know, kids can get crazy, especially if you are trying to make them do something they don't want to do. That's a big part of why we have no FG or RB.

You have no obligation to do that, and it might be just as much of a hassle for her parents to buy the dress, shoes, etc, plan to go to the rehearsal and get all of this together now as it would be for you. Not to mention, asking 2 weeks b/f the wedding is a little rude in itself!

We're having more than just the bridal party introduced at the reception in order to honor our grandmothers and some other family members. You can find another way to honor her.

I think with two weeks to go, this is something you shouldn't be worrying about. Did your aunt suggest this idea to your mother? I would think the topic would have been brought up sooner if your aunt wasn't fine with the little girl being in the wedding. I think it's a bad idea, don't stress over it, just say no.
