Flowers and officiant - can they wait until January?

I am getting married next October. I just booked my band and photographer, and with Christmas coming up, I feel like I want to take a break on wedding stuff until after the holidays. Not only do I not have the $$ right now for more deposits, I don't have the time to meet with anyone. Is it ok if I wait until January to book an officiant and a florist? Will I have a hard time finding someone who's available?

I have no desire to look for more vendors now - my mind is too occupied with saving $$ for gifts and going out to shop for them!!

I have my hair person, but makeup I am undecided on ... not going with a big name so I am not worried about that .. but yeah, those are the two big ones I need. Are you looking now or are you waiting?

yea deff. I wouldn't book that much in advance because you might change your mind or at least you can space out the money with the depos out.

I am wedding'd out and am not doing anything else until January. I hate going on appointments---especially after working all day. We all probably just need a break. For a sept wedding, I think I did a lot so far. DJ, photographer, dress, invites, favors, honeymoon, RH. The rest can wait!

i think january is fine- we havent booked our flowers (amoung a million other things)- we have our officiant, but only because that came through the church. i wouldnt worry though- it sounds like you have the most important parts and if you arent going with big name make-up you should be fine.

my friend is gettiing married on saturday in jamaica and she went to the girl at mac in nordstroms and said she is excellent- i am going to do a trial with her.

i wouldnt worry about the flowers so much bc they can do more than 1 wedding at a time. However I am getting married in september and called for officiants 2 weeks ago and two were already booked. I ended up booking one last night. I really liked him and it was only $100 deposit.

i think you are totally fine. I don't have flowers yet and my wedding is in May. I just called this week and there are still places that can see me and one was even like oh you're doing this so far in advance.

i think LIW gets some of us paranoid with how far in advance some people do stuff. I am definitely saving anything else until after the holidays, including registering, limos, ceremony decorations, invites, etc.

oops just saw this. I have a florist appt this weekend and I want to book my officiants ASAP

Same here....we need the flowers, limo and i still need my DRESS....yikes. Im going in January. After the holidays....money is too tight during the holidays for any more deposits.

i have my RH LIMOS DJ DRESS CHURCH and i went on my first visit with the florist tonight...
because i do not know too much about the florist i want to take time with this one and perhaps look at 2 more maybe before i actually book one
although i loved the place i went and i feel he really understood my vision...i am meeting him agian next week so he can show me a sample...
but you have PLENTY OF TIME....
