Flowers at the Church?

Do you think it's necessary to have flowers on the pews and at the alter? I have it on my list with the cost the flower shop provided me, but I am thinking about removing it. Not sure if it's necessary.

Thanks for any advice!

I think it depends on the bride. The ceremony is the most important part to me and since I am spending the money and energy to decorate the reception hall we are doing the same for the ceremony. I am going to have columns and pedastals and other things. The church is beautiful but I wanted to enhance it just because

I am just confused because I want to save $$ somewhere and I don't know where to save it. My only idea is the flowers at the church. This cost of this wedding just keeps on increasing.

I think that is one place you can cut - consider doing DIY projects - is there anything else that is out of the ordinary to you??

I know someone mentioned that some churches have flowers sent there anyway every week for services so its worth a try to call the church and see

I didn't think about calling the church first. I will do that to see if they do have flowers delivered there on a weekly basis. I have to think of any projects. Maybe I can make nice bows for the pews, just to decorate it a bit. thanks girls!

My florist only charged me 300 bucks for the church...I got two large altar arrangements and 16 pew bouquets and bows...you can take the flowers with you from the church...in fact, they encouraged me to do that...

I am not having them, I felt for the 30 minutes we will be in the Church it wasnt worth it. But I did buy Pew Bows from Michaels that I will have one of my Girlfriends tie on for me and I am going to glue a fake rose in the middle.

we're only having flowers on every other pew.... and it's a really simple decoration

one puffy green hydrangea tied with an ivory ribbon... $15 each.

you denfinitely can cut down on expenses in this dept, if you want to.....

Since we're getting married around Christmas time, we don't have to decorate the alter, but we are doing something on the pews, but only the first few pews.

i am not having them. Check with the church b/c my church always have the alter decorated with flowers & for the seasons (ex..mums and fall flowers).
I do not think it is necessary.....you are only going to be at church for an hour....people arent going to miss/be looking at the flowers, they are going to be looking at the bride!!!
