Not sure what to do about the church. Should I get flowers? or maybe just bows for the pews? Or nothing at all? Any suggestions? Really stuck on this one - our church is very pretty so I dont know if flowers will be too much! HELP!

Re: Flowers at the church
I am not doing flowers at the church. My church is very pretty and big. My florist was the one who told me not to waste the money. He said it usually gets lost and doesn't make much of a difference - not worth the money. But I'm sure everyone's opinion on this is different. I personally didn't have the extra money and once the florist told me he didn't suggest it - I was happy, lol. It's really all up to you. I think we are going to have bows or ribbion on the pews, but thats it. good luck!

Re: Flowers at the church
Im not sure what Im doing yet but I was thinking of having 2 arrangements on either side of the altar and then having someone in my fam take then to the RH to have near mine and FHs table.
My brother did this at his wedding so the flowers didnt go to waste.

I wasn't sure about this either, but we dedcided to get 2 alter arrangments. I realy don't remeber seeing them at the church, but someone did take them to the RH for me and we put them behind us at the sweetheart table and it looked beautiful. I am not sure if I have pics. there might be some in my album. I would get them though!!!

I wasn't going to b/c I felt like I didn't care, but since we weren't allowed to have an aisle runner or anything, FH wanted something....it's his viewpoint of my walking down the aisle, after all! So we got bows with spray roses on every 3rd pew I think.....

I did no flowers for the church-when I spoke to the priest he said they always have flowers up on the altar and it would be a waste of money to get them-and they may clash with what they already have

Re: Flowers at the church
We did pointsetias on the altar since it was Advent. We got three large ones for the altar and then had another large one at the RH on our place card table. At the end of the mass, we grabbed the 3 and gave them to DH's grandmother, MIL and SMIL, and my mom got the one on the place card table. Worked out very well!

Re: Flowers at the church
Also it depends on WHEN durinh the liturgical year you are getting married.
If it is during the Easter Season, the flowers are gorgeous... and a bit overwhleming... you won't need a thing.
If it's right after Christmas until about the Epihphany, also there will be a lot of flowers.
If you are getting married during Lent, ASK the priest. Many churches WILL NOT allow flowers at this time, due to the solemnity of the season.
We are having 2 large arrangements on the altar and will leave them at the church...as a donation to the altar decoration. As for pew decor...that's my other issue...i have bows in my flower contract but I am hating that idea at the moment...thinking about cones or wreaths...DIY of course!

Re: Flowers at the church
we were married on Sunday so I figured there would already be flowers there for the masses - - and there was.
I made pew bows with bows from Michael's and added sprigs of silk flowers in multi colors to them. My SIL took them to the church so I didn't need to worry about fussing with a florist on this. Cost about 30 for 12 bows.
