Not sure how much they charge for that but I saw a bunch of different arrangements when I went. He gave me the best rate and included the most stuff out of any florist I spoke with. And his work is great! I'm sure if you call, he can give you a price.

I would check out both if you can. I only met with Dyker Height florist George was great but I felt he just making up the prices and he really could not explain what he going to have in my centerpieces. I have always heard great things about Flowers by Emil.

That's so strange cause when I went for my appointment at Dyker Florist, he created a sample centerpiece and bridal bouquet for me and it was perfect! I just gave him a few details about the wedding and voila! No one else offered to do a sample without putting some money down.

They both do beautiful work but both my sons used June Florist on 18th Ave and 86th Street. Jimmy does fantastic work. He may seem preoccupied as you speak with him but believe me he hears every word you say and will do anything you want. They actually BOTH do high centerpieces with hanging votives... I am actually stuck like you between which one I want to work with...
Ive met with both and George did do a centerpiece sample for me and hes willing to do bouqet samples for me as well and I havent booked him yet... Carmine at Flowers by Emil is willing to do a sample piece as well without booking him...
Now Carmine gave me a cheaper quote the first time I went BUT he wasnt including A LOT of what George is willing to do for me... And theres something about George that makes me feel is eye is very sharp and young and Im not so sure Carmine's is... Im just really torn...
Im going back to talk to Carmine again to get a better quote since I have more details now then when I first met with him so I will let you know how that goes...
From what I hear George is like an artist, hes not just a florist... Ive been to 2 other weddings that he did and his work was beautiful... He has a vision of your ENTIRE day and he let me know things he would do for me that I didnt even think of and thats what I liked! What I didnt like is that everytime I talk to him hes kind of ALL OVER the place... Im just scared Carmine's eye isnt as sharp... =/ Im VERY torn cause I hear GREAT things about BOTH places and I dont know what to do!

I heard great things about both places but when I started to do my search, I called both places and I got a better feeling from George right off the bat. Then when I met with him, he already had my sample centerpieces ready for me and created some other samples while I was there. You couldn't have said it better - he is an artist and has a keen eye for things. He cares a lot about his work and he actually gave me ideas on things I didn't even think about. He also gave me the lowest price than anyone else. Plus, he does amazing work and gives you so much for what you pay for!
Anyway, from what you wrote, it looks like you were leaning more towards George

wowowwo those last 2 quotes are deff what I would say about George....
My Bro works at Marine Florist and I went in to talk to them and even tho they gave me a discount and I know they wouldnt mess with me I didnt get teh vibe like I got with george from Dyker...HE looked at my pics and was pulling flowers and asking me what I think and such...He also told me to make a appt to come back to check out his samples and such....

This is how I see it... The first time I went to see BOTH George and Carmine about 1-1.5 months ago, I went with NOT a lot of info. I just KNEW what I wanted for my centerpiece... I didnt even have my dress yet at that time! I still dont have bridesmaid dresses (just an idea of colors) and George was able to talk to me, get an idea of what I like/dont like, my style any flowers in particular I like... He created a sample centerpiece for me... He has ideas for my bouqet, my girls, church decorations, my cake, my cake table, the moms, the grandmas... He had ideas for MY ENTIRE DAY!!! Things I didnt even think of or know since hey this is all so new to me! EVERYTHING! Gave me a quote and told me NO MATTER what I want he will do it... He wants me to come back for bouqet samples now that i have my dress... He has BEAUTIFUL ideas and of course if i dont like something he will work on it till its what I want!!
Now I went to Carmine with the same lack of detail and he not only COULDNT give me a price quote, he had no ideas for me just told me not to worry he will work within my budget... He didnt really have ideas for me... I felt like he didnt ask the right questions and now I call back to speak with him again and not only can I not get him on the phone they tell me they are too busy to meet with me before the holidays and I will have to wait until Jan!!! When the man I was on the phone with heard how surprised I was by that cause i was SHOCKED that he said he had no time to meet with me... He was like o ok we can set something up for next weekend... I asked for something today since im off work but of course they are too busy for me... Then i asked for something after work and they close at 5pm CAuse of the holidays! I met with Carmine a month ago at 630!!! When I mentioned that he was like o that was before the holidays! AS A BUSINESS AROUND THE HOLIDAYS DONT YOU STAY OPEN LATER?! I just dont get a good feeling with them and to be honest i dont trust them with my day... And after typing this I dont even care to go back there next weekend! LOL IM GOING WITH GEORGE! HEHEHEHE but if anyone wants any info on him or needs anything please FM me anytime =)))

I actually lived 3 blocks from them in Dyker Heights for 4 years and ALWAYS bought my flowers from them. They do amazing work!! So fresh and beautiful. I can't imagine those guys wouldn't be able to do hanging cp's. They're awesome!!

I think we're all in agreement! When I met with George, I didn't have my dress nor the bridesmaids dresses. I didn't even know what centerpieces I wanted, all I knew was that I wanted high ones. He just went by my style and took it from there. I have no doubt he's gonna do a fantabulous job! I'm sure we're all gonna be very happy. We should start a thread with our flowers

I KNOW!! My thoughts EXACTLY! I felt the same way except I'm already feeling like time's flying, lol. I just finished booking my major vendors but I still have a lot to do too! Think I have to go back to my list and create a timeline, otherwise July will come and I will be spazzin out, lol. We'll need to keep each other in check

Yes same here! Ive booked all major vendors, thank you. The last thing is the florist but I already know who I want to work with hehe...
I guess the 2 major things Im working on is the bridesmaid dresses and the invitations and calligraphy... And I dont want to do the invitations until I do the dresses because I want to keep a color theme going! UGHH! Im going again on the 27th for bridesmaid dresses, the first time I went I didnt see anything that made me go OMG THAT IS IT! So Im praying that I find something this time... Now I know for sure what colors I want and I saw a Bill Levkoff dress that Im in love with but its in his 2009 collection and I cant find it online ANYWHERE! It was in a magazine and theres no info on it... No style # nothing =/
