Would you recommend real flowers or sugar flowers on a cake?
Money doesn't matter with this one, just ease and how it looks.

I've seen both and theyre equally pretty -- I think I'm going to go with the real flowers just so my cake matches my centerpieces (I'm crazy with matching things) but sugar flowers would be just as beautiful

sugar flowers would probably be best...only because if you have people who are allergic to real flowers and the pollen gets on the cake your guests are going to have an allergic reaction

I think they are both nice as long as they are done properly.
I myself prefer real flowers because I am going to have flower petals everywhere...around the cake, around the centerpieces. So I'd like to tie that into the cake.
If money is no object, then I would rather go with real flowers for the fresh look.

i have to say honestly I like real flowers better... but there have been a few cakes with sugar flowers that look nice.... for some reason the real flowers just add that extra touch!

i personally like sugar flowers on cakes only because then if anyone is allergic to the flowers they cant eat the cake but they both look nice

I personally like to see real flowers too - I would just make sure that allergies won't be a problem - like use a flower that is less likely to cause a reaction or only put the flowers are certain parts.
Although I have to say that sugar flowers or using i think its fondant - they can easily make them look very real too!

WOW never thought about the allergies thing, great point. Well im not doing either anyway so doesnt matter. Im doing a mad hatter cake so no flowers.

Thanks everyone, I never thought about allergies before. My family had bad allergies to flowers where you can actually see the pollen, but I'm not going with flowers like that. So I think I may get real flowers.
