It really depends on what you get and where you go. I used a less expensive florist and DJ upgrade so my DJ cost more. If I didn't get upgrades than flowers would have been more. A band will usually be more expensive because you need to pay and feed each member of the band.

For me the band was more, but if you got a DJ, I think flowers might be more.

It really depends on how many ppl you have in your bridal party because that will add to the cost of the flowers.

my DJ and florist are about the same, but we went light on flowers and splurged for the drummer.
Bands are more expensiv than DJs, so it varies

That is exactly right.
My flowers are more than my DJ (about 2x as much), but if I got a Band, it would cost about 3x what my flowers do.
I think it's not off-base to estimate for a moderately-priced 125-person wedding:
$2000 for DJ $3000 for flowers $7000 for band
(... -ish! of course! I just pulled those numbers out of my butt. )

band...........plus you have to feed the whole group
usually its band -> flowers -> dj
bands usually run upwards of 4-5k. Plus the feeding issue. Bands usually have atleast 5 people.
Thankfully we had a dj and it is against their company's policy to eat at weddings.. phew-so i was able to save a little there.

I can't imagine spending a fortune on flowers. I spent 1450 on my dj and won't spend more than 500-600 for the bridal flowers (centerpieces are included in my hall). I am also making my own centerpieces to cut costs. I am doing a candle centerpiece with 2 smaller candles on 5' glass mirror on each side attached to it by flowers that the florist is providing. My friend is helping me make the flowers for the ceremony.

I don't know about you ladies, but I had no idea what to expect for cost when we started to plan.
I am glad that i did some digging and searching before making my final decision and just being done with it.
I have come to find out that sometimes less is more, you get what you pay for and quality supercedes quantity.
Happy searching.
We chose MRG which is a DJ and MC....neither FH or I wanted a band, we don't like them they are $1,500 for a basic package we are getting married in a room with a giant skylight during the day so we didn't need a light package, thank goodness!
Our flowers were less. We chose to use Flower Michele, John is amazing. I have nothing but love for him. FMIL is covering the cost. We purchased crystal bowls from Mikasa and plan to fill them with a candle and gerbera daisies which one lucky guest from each table will be able to take home. I will post a mock up we put together.
We have no intention of decorating for our ceremony. The room is breath taking as it doesn't need a thing.
We put a majoity of money in the food and bar because we feel like, besides the entertainment, it is the most important part.
