I'm coming to NY this weekend to do marathon wedding planning. I'm going to FlowersMichele, Pedestals, and Jack and Rose. Here's the thing - I have no idea what to ask or expect. I think I know what I want my BOK to look like and how many centerpieces but that's about it. I really don't even know what to expect pricewise either. Any suggestions?

Re: Flowers question
My advice is to go in knowing your color scheme...like the color of your bridal party. The florist can give you ideas and suggestions. We booked Jack he really took his time with us, I brought in pictures and ideas and he just really listened and made suggestions. Dont be afriad to say if you like or dont like something, Jack is really great with making sure you leave happy!!! Good luck!!!! Let us know how you make out!!!! I know the things most brides go with are the Bok's, boutinerres, ( sp). coursages, rose petals, centerpieces, cake toppers, candleabras, etc. Have fun!!!!

If you have the time...I suggest you also squeeze in a visit to Flowers by Emil...Carmine was great and his prices by far beat out anyone else.

Re: Flowers question
When I went to Pedestal's and Jack & Rose I had no idea what I wanted... both florists went over flowers and colors for me and did a lot of the thinking and planning for me...I found them both to be really helpful since I wasnt sure what I wanted...

Re: Flowers question
I went to Flower Michele with NO idea's whatsoever. I had an estimated # of tables, and thought I might want candle centerpieces. John asked me a few questions, showed me some pictures. I got some ideas of what I liked and disliked. Since then I've gotten a better idea of what I want, and when I meet with him next I'll have ideas and pictures. I am very ignorant about flowers, so it was very important for me to find a florist whos talent and judgement I could trust.
As far as prices, I'm not sure how much variation you'll get with those florists. They may be more or less in the same price range. I was clueless about prices, but taken back a little! If you want details about my contract, let me know, I'll FM it too you.

Re: Flowers question
luvsun...i totally agree! Carmine was fantastic. When I went to him I had no idea what I wanted; he was patient and made very good suggestions and gave me some great ideas!! When I changed my mind (SEVERAL times) he didnt complain once! Instead he pretty much bent over backwards to make sure I was happy with what I was getting - THERE's A BONUS - His price was a FRACTION of what other florists quoted me, and the others couldnt give me the flowers I had decided on because they said they were too expensive. I highly recommend Flowers by Emil... Carmine will not disappoint you! Good luck.
