I realy know nothing about flowers..so my ? is how many differnt ribbon wraps are there? I basically see 2. One that the ribbon covers the entire stem and one that the ribbon is only in the middle of the stems. Is that it? I know I have seen intricate weaves and patterns but I am speaking just about placement of the ribbon. Also which is better?

Re: Flowers - Ribbon wrapping
Its a matter of taste. Some people like to leave the stems exposed, some like them covered. The real difference is that if you leave the stems exposed you cant put in little water reservoirs for the stems which limits your flower choices and/or shortens the lifespan of the flower.

Thanks Stef... What do you think the lifespan of tulips and lillies are? Better to cover them or not?

Your florist will be able to answer better than I can but What kind of lilly do you want? Im pretty sure Tulips need a water supply or they will wilt.

Re: Flowers - Ribbon wrapping
I have no idea what type of lily..I really know nothing about flowers..I figured I'll choose with the florist.
My girls will have all Tulips so I guess I will have theres wrapped all the way..and I guess I should look around at differrent lillies! I really want the ones that Joey gave to Rachel on an episode of friends..that's how I picked lillies!

I think it depends on the lily. Pretty sure that most bulb grown flowers like calla lillies, tulips, dafodils, etc... need a constant source of water or they wilt. But there may be lillies that are grown a different way. Dont worry - your florist will have a solution.
