Flowers WWYD? long...

I have a problem.....
I have this friend who wants to do my flowers. We used to be very close but over the years we have drifted apart somewhat. She was like a sister to me but we don't see each other that much anymore. (Mainly because she is also very good friends with my ex husband). When I announced my engagement she offered to do the flowers as her gift. She does event planning and stuff on the side. This was before we decided to have the 'big wedding' and I kind of forgot about her offer. I haven't booked a florist yet but I want something more than she would probably do and I don't know how to tell her that I don't want her to do them. I tried explaining that it was too much for her etc. but she is not getting it. She says she can do whatever I want.
How do I tell her thanks, but no thanks without causing drama? or do I suck it up and let her do them?

I am such a wimp when it comes to stuff like this. I never want to hurt anybody else's feelings.

I can relate. I am the exact. same. way. ! I would tell her that you went on a few florist appts (which you prob. should do) and saw a display that was EXACTLY what you wanted....they offered you a fantastic deal and you booked on the spot. Let her know that since she will not be worrying about the flowers anymore she can kick back and relax the day of without all of the pressure :)

I know, but she wants them to be her gift to us, how do I tell someone I don't want their gift?

I had a very similar situation. I eventually said that I had won a large credit at a bridal show and decided It was worth it for me to go with them. She got over it.
