flowers...how much? repost from 08 board.

How much are you girls spending on flowers and what are you getting? also with what vendor??

i am looking to get low centerpieces, but i dont want to spend crazy money. anyone have any quotes??

I don't have everything in front on me but I'm pretty sure I paid 2300 for my bok, 5BM, 4 coursages,7bout, and 15 tall centerpieces from flower michele. Lower centerpieces are less expensive and I think are usually about 75-80 per table (depending on type of flowers and who you're using)

I received 2 quotes so far...$5500 and $4100...This is alot of money and FH is freaking out... I liked both places so far...I'm going to keep looking...I keep reading great things about Flowers Michelle...affordable!?! Who else should I visit??? Any recs??

-1 brides bouquet
-1 MOH
-4 bridesmaids
-1 groom
-4 groomsmen
-1 ringbearer
-3 flowergirl baskets
-2 flowers at church (one has 2 pedistals the other has 2 small baskets on floor)
-1 included large memory candle with flower wreath
-10 pew flowers (one included hydrangias the other offered me orchids)
-One said they'd bring it all to the reception hall the other said you need to designate someone to move them.
-15 center pieces (one offered high the other small)
-CH placecard table (both offered huge arraingement)
-all bathrooms (both)
-1 offered orchids on passed trays during CH
-Both offered floating flowers in 45 bowls on CH tables (one said orchids, roses or gerbers...the other said roses)
-Both have a great rep...the one who offered more...high cp, moving the church flowers to recept., orchids on passed trays...etc. is the one who quoted the 4100...definately a better deal...still alot of $$$$$, right????? I mean its just flowers...

flowers are mostly hydrangias, orchids, few roses, other flowers reg stuff...lots of cool greenery...brides is all mini calla's...

What do you all think??? Any chance someone can give me all this for like 3K???

it's a lot of $$, but at the same time....it's also a lot of flowers...that's a big different in cost between those 2 places. maybe you can find a little bit less if u shop around. or else maybe you can cut a few things out....ie: flowers in bathrooms....do u think people will really notice these??

My advice check with your church about the flowers. My church provides flowers for the alters and strongly suggests not getting additional flowers. They also do not let you use tape or basically use anything else on the pews, so I would check into this. Could save you some money.

Another way to save some money is to make your own flowergirl baskets and purchase petals off the internet.

Also instead of getting an arrangement for the CH table, you could use votive candles and some rose petals or use the girls' boks?!?!

Just some ideas . . . could save you some money.

Definately great ideas...candles on the placecard table...I really like that...making the girls flower baskets...maybe just DIY bows on the pews instead of flowers...hmmmm you have me thinking...=)

The 2 florists I met with both threw in the bathroom centerpieces at n/c...I wouldn't care either way...

I think when I met with each florist I was just giving them my ideal setup...maybe I need to be more realistic.
