Flutes as favors? (With poll)

As some of you may know, my dad's girlfriend offered to make our toasting flutes. Well I found out recently that not only is she going to make the ones for me and FH, but the toasting flutes for the ENTIRE WEDDING. Now...the question is...do I only use them for the toast, or should they be only used as favors? I like the idea of everybody using them for the toast...then could we have them washed before the end of the night, and placed back on the tables? Any ideas on this? Or should I just fill them with candy or something? I can't decide what to do....

I wouldnt re-wash them, but I think filling them with candy would be nice-

You mean just fill them with candy and cover them in tulle or something as a favor?

yes and have everyone else toast with the regular flutes except you and the fh

i looove that idea!! how awesome of her to make them for you! i think it would be really special to all toast with the same glasses, and then allow them to take it home. i would ask your RH if they would wash them...

i might put a cute poem inside about how this will be their favor, otherwise they might not realize it.

I would only give them out as favors...candy int them wrapped in tulle etc.

i would just use them as favors...god forbid it gets broken while in use or being re-washed by the hall.

I worked in a restaurant where we catered a wedding. The favors were the flutes they drank from. It was a great idea, but a lot of people left them on the table probably not realizing it was their favor and the fact that they were used and dirty bothered me.

The Problem with the RH washing them is your guests won't get their own glass back.

The RH should supply you with glasses to toast from, I would wrap them and keep it neat.

The only thing is that we are not having the reception at a hall, and we have to rent all glass ware and settings. It probably won't be that much more to rent them, I was just trying to keep costs down wherever I could.....
