Flying with a baby
Patrick and I are going to West Palm Beach in January and assumed we'd take the baby (who will be about 10 weeks old) with us.The other day a friend told us that a baby under 3 months old can't fly. We haven't established ourselves with a peditrician we can ask yet, so I thought maybe one of you would know.
Any thoughts?

Jenn, I'm not sure, but I just wanted to say I am so jealous you'll be somewhere warm and sunny in January! Enjoy WPB, my best friend lives there....

Re: Flying with a baby
My cousins just flew up here with their babies for my uncles funeral. The babies were 3 weeks and 6 weeks. I thought that was a bit young but their doctors said they would be OK!!!

Jenn! When we flew from CA to NY for our permanent move - Paul was 11 weeks old! It was NO PROBLEM according to our pediatrician, and actually I firmly believe it's much easier to travel by plane with them when they are so little.
No worries!

Re: Flying with a baby
Just make sure the doctor knows that you will be flying. I know that the baby should be given something to $uck on to help with the pressure in their ears during take off and landing though.

Re: Flying with a baby
i'd say definitely ask a doctor .. my friend thought she'd be able to fly soon after her baby was born, but now the doctor said to wait til she's 3 months. just good to be on the safe side

Re: Flying with a baby
I just got off a plane with a 7 day old baby. I would ask the dr for advise about how to alleviate the ear pressure. What a nice time of year to be going to FL!Welcome New Vendors
