what is future hubby's stance on that? there are definitely ways of reaching out to her to update her once and a while via email. but no numbers have to be spoken of. 'oh hi, we picked this for favors ... what do you think of a mother/daughter dance song ... what dress color are you thinking of' that sort of thing!

Re: FMIL advice
Well I would just leave it alone but that is just me. FILs are the most quiet people and never ask me anything about the wedding. I know he mom appreciates it when I tell her things when I see her but she never asks (not due to lack of intrest I just think b/c we are paying she does not want to state an opinion)
But if FH did not have a real relationship with her and he didn't care I would probably not say anything unless she asked.
