There's a little unspoken competition between the moms right now for who is more involved, so I was keeping that special for my family only.

Re: FMIL and Dress
No. I won't even describe it. I think that annoys her. FH's dumb uncle asked on Easter if I was going to have a train, ' FMIL said' We're not allowed to know' in a whiny way. I said its b/c FH was there, & someone said he should leave, but I jokingly said I don't know if everyone in the room can be trusted with a secret.
I like going to a wedding and seeing everything for the first time, not knowing too many details, but everyoen keeps asking me stuff.
I think I am going to start lying.
I was trying to involve FILs in general in the beginning, but now I think I am done with other people. No more input from anyone. at all.

Same here!!!! She got to go dress shopping with me a little so I think that's enough. She knows it's white, it's got a train, it's a ball gown and for some reason she knows how much it cost! I don't want to hear anyone's comments because it's not strapless (apparently this is the only acceptable neckline on a wedding dress!).... and I want it to be a surprise for most people... my mom hasn't even seen on it me in person... only in pics... my MOH is the only other person who has seen it.

Re: FMIL and Dress
Me and my MOH(sister) actually went dress shopping and then I brought back my Mother and FMIL when I put the deposit down.
I am really lucky I have a wonderful FMIL she treats me like one of her own children. I really try to involve her as much as possible in the planning b/c she does not have any daughters only three sons so she will never get the chance to be the Mother of the Bride.

Re: FMIL and Dress
She's seen a photo of me in it and I will invite her to come to a fitting when it comes in. I'm not reallly a secretive person and I don't think her, or really anyone else, seeing it will make a difference on the big day.

Yes. I invited her along (at the request of my FH) when I ordered it. It was my mom, my sister (MOH) and my BM's with us. I was expecting her to have an attitude about it but she was very excited to see it and be a part of it.

Re: FMIL and Dress
hrmm
She hasnt asked I havent offered It's never come up and I don't think either of us care.
I'd show it to her if she wanted, I don't care, but I doubt she'd care either.
His sister has seen it. So if she was curious Im sure she could have told her mother. *shrug*
It's just NOT that big of a deal. It's a dress, who cares? Im not her daughter why should she care what I look like? She's also not paying for a thing so she's not the type to say she has a 'say' in it.
My mother hasn't seen it (Stepmother) I don't think she cares either and frankly I won't show it to her. She has no rights as a mother as far as Im concerned and frankly I would kill her if I had to hear her B!tch and Moan about how it isn't right. Bad enough I can't tell her Im married cause they it's 'WHy bother going to NYC then if you're already married?' grrr

She hasn't seen it and won't until the wedding. She really isn't that interested to be honest.
