Are you having your FMIL come with you dress shopping? Personally, I would rather not have her come. I would rather have it be just me, my mom, and my MOH. I really want it to be a special thing with my family (my MOH is my cousin who was like a sister to me my whole life). I was thinking about inviting her to my first fitting to make her feel included, but not for dress shopping.

I only took my mom and my two sisters. They did the same when they got married. Do what makes you comfortable. It was a special moment when everyone was crying as I came out in my dress. Personally, I wouldn't want it any other way.
And.... I haven't even shown my FMIL my dress! She can wait.

Agreed!! This may sound awful, but I don't plan on including her in much. It's not that I dislike her so much, but it's more that she has a really big mouth and will tell everyone everything. I would like to keep things a bit of a mystery until the big day. We'll include her in things having to do with FH, like getting his tux, and I'll fill her in on when we get limos...things like that.

I only had my Parents & my MOH go dress shopping with me. My fiance's Mother will see my dress on the wedding day.

i only took my mom and MOh with me but once i narrowed it down to two i brought my mom, fmil and fsil to give there opinion on the two and fmil told FH that she was very happy that i asked her to go with me. I didnt want to have her come to see me try on every dress bc too many opinions may have affected my decision but i was glad that she was happy to come to see me try on the two i loved!

I only brought my mother. My FH mother lives in a different state and we arnt close at all. She probably wont even come to the wedding.

I invited my FMIL but she has some health issues and couldn't make it the day of. It just ended up being my mother and FSIL.

I invited mine and she was there with my mother and MOH the day i chose my dress! She only has one son and hes an only child and grandchild so I thought she would want to experience this at least once. My mom was totally okay with it and so thats the only reason I asked her.
