So my ever procrastinating FMIL never ordered her gown.. She decided this past weekend to go order one to find out thats its too late and that she will have to get something off the rack or buy a sample. She is not the usual sample size so she is having a hard time. She found one dress she says looked ok on her but the color is the same as my moms gown so i told her not to get it.. She says to me 'I'm just going to get whatever fits my body'.... I stressed to her again to please not get brown.. get any color except brown. And again she says shes just going to get what fits.. I really think shes going to end up in brown (my moms color).. I am so freakin pissed she waited so long to shop.
Has anyone ever been to Estelles? I have never been there but i told her to go there.. Do they have alot of dresses that are appropriate for MOG? Or does anyone know of any other place she can look. She had no luck in Macy's or Fantasia Bridal.

Re: FMIL drama
Awe I'm sorry to hear this. My mil bought her dress at Estelle's. They have a nice mother of the bride/groom section and most were less expensive than dresses from the bridal shops. She will find something don't worry!

Re: FMIL drama
I know a lot of you LI girls do not like to come to Brooklyn or Manhattan to shop but your FMIL really should try Macy's Herald Square. They have a larger selection then the stores in the mall and she may find one there. Also there are a number of stores in Brooklyn she can try. I've posted before that even though it is a small bridal store Doris Fashions on 18th Avenue has everything and are very good. There are also a number of stores along 86th Street and also Avenue U. I hope she finds something quickly...good luck!

I've never been to Estelle's but I heard that they have a really nice selection for weddings. DH's aunt found her dress their and it was beautiful! Also, try David's Bridal.

Re: FMIL drama
both my mom and MIL waited until 3 wks before the wedding to get a dress--and i thought i was gonna DIE from anxiety. but they both got great dresses from Estelle's that we brought to my seamstress to do some professional alterations at the last minute.
I would highly suggest Estelle's, Lord & Taylor and Macy's...you can surely find an off the rack dress there!

Re: FMIL drama
I got my engagement party dress at Estelle's. Also have her try Totally You on merrick Ave. Everyone kept getting on my mother to order her dress. We went there and ordered it and it came in in a week. Plus this stories prices beat everywhere else.
FM me if you want anymore info.

Re: FMIL drama
The section in Estelles is huge plus they have almost every gown in every size possible. They can also get gowns in 10 days if need be. She should definitely find a gown there.
