Re: FMIL Dress

My mother-in law bought her's two and a half months before . I would say three or four would have been better, but no more than that. Being that I worked at a Bridal Salon, it doesn't take them that long to come in.

Re: FMIL Dress

My FMIL bought her dress around December for our October wedding. The only thing that bothered me was she bought a cream gown and didn't even ask my mom what color she was planning on wearing or anything. I know she didn't mean anything by it, but it was poor etiquette. It worked out in the end, because my mom took forever finding the right gown and it would have been unfair to ask MIL to wait.

ETS- my mother didn't order her dress until around August. she picked up her dress a week before the wedding. so don't worry, there's still plenty of time

Mine got hers two weeks before!! that was a little bit stressful on me! If she is going to a salon January should be good to go.

Re: FMIL Dress

Well my FMIL liked a dress by the same company and in the same fabric and color as my mom's dress. I tried to convince her to get it in the ice gray (which looks lke light bloue) and she is a blonde so it looked great, but who knows.

My Mom and FMIL aren't going to start shopping for their dresses until after the holidays. I think that is plenty of time.

Most MOB dresses take 3 months to come in on average.

Re: FMIL Dress

why is it so stressful on the bride when the MIL takes time to get a dress??

I just dont get it- shes an adult and she can take care of herself

its not like we go to every single guest and ask if they bought their outfit yet months before the wedding

i think that when it comes to this aspect of our weddings- we brides need to chill out and make it one less thing to worry about
