Yes he shld def be in a tux. The color of the dress I'm not rly sure I guess whatever color she wld like. My o so wonderful fmil bought a black dress which I totally disagree with this is her sons wedding shd shld not be in black lol
She can really wear whatever color... typically brides would ask the mother of the groom in this situation to not wear the same color as the bridal party, or a color that is too close to your dress (white, ivory, anything very light like that). But it's really up to you... if there's a color you think would clash with the wedding color scheme you could ask her not to wear that, but it really is totally up to you and her.
