FMIL is dying

A while back I posted that my FMIL was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The prognosis was about 9-12 months with treatment. She strted treatment and reacted very badly. Her white blood cell count dropped to crazy low levels and she needs a platelet transfusion every other day. FH didn't see her for a few days because he had a cold, but he went to see her yesterday and called me saying that she is basically unresponsive, she has no energy, the home nurse says she sleeps about 20 hours a day and doesn't want to eat. He contacted her doctor who said that her symptoms sounds like the end of the cancer. The doctor is going to see her today, but these are the textbook symptoms. They have to get all of her affairs in order and his Grandpa and Uncle were flying in from Florida to see her, but now it seems like they will be saying their goodbyes. FH doesn't even know if she will make it that long. I feel so bad for FH! He is being so strong and I know he is just torn up inside. I am really praying that all of the doctors are wrong and that she is just going to get through this. I'm at work now, but I just had to come on and share. I love FH so much. I hate to see this happens!

I know what you mean...what can you say at a time like this?

You wish you could take your FI's pain away. There is not much you can do, but be there for him like you are already doing.

I am so, so sorry for your FH. I'm sure that you being there for him is helping a lot, even if it doesn't seem that way right now. Our thoughts are with you at this incredibly difficult time.
