when i asked her for a number of people to invite to the wedding, she came back to me with 32! she said that she would like to have a bbq in the future and invite their friends, but only wants to invite family to the wedding. i had FH explain to her that our minimum is 150 and that she can invite more of her friends. i'm really not complaining because i'm sure my mom will be thrilled that she can invite more people (since my family with just aunts, uncles, and first cousins gets us to 75 people). i guess the church is going to be 'related to the bride by blood' or 'everyone else'.

Do not complain!! That must be great that she didnt give you a list a mile long...I havent gotten my list yet...however..I KNOW! it will have at least 50 more people than I want at the wedding....

Sandy, my FMIL invited about 50, maybe less. My parents invited 180!! Now DF's family has two tables at the reception and my family has 10!! I guess we're going to have to get all our friends to sit on his side at the church to even it out!

how thoughtful of her! Of course you can tell her that you would like her to include more people, but it was really nice that she doesn't expect you to pay for her friends to attend your wedding.

defiantely thoughtful that she is not overinviting...you could ask your fiance of their friends which ones he is closer to, to invite...

I had more people at my wedding than my husband b/c I have a much bigger family than he does. At least now, you and your fi can invite more of your friends.
