FMIL issue (not mine)

So i was just about ready to go to sleep last night and i get a call from one of my OOT GF's who is also getting married (2009). She was bent out of shape bc she was talking to her FMIL and somehow the conversation came up that when FMIL's 1st daughter got married...she actually ASKED her if 'she really wants to 'do this' because if not we'll have a great party anyway'. It was nothing meant against this girls husband or anything, but supposidly the FMIL is divorced and remarried and not really a great influence on having a great marriage. If i remember correctly, when my GF first started dating her FH she said something about the mother always saying 'don't get married..blah blah. So anyway, my GF is totally upset over it and very insulted. I didn't know what to say, personally i think it's disgusting that someone would say this to their own child on their wedding day, but i didn't want to go there bc it would just upset her more. I just told her to ignore it. If my FMIL ever said that and i found out about it....oooooooooooooooooooooooooooh lord bless this woman
